The best feature of being a music lover is to let the artists' creativity and point-of-view inspire yours: be it with the decisive choices you make, or by just living your ordinary day. Our life experiences play a crucial role in our interaction with that artist's music, manifesting itself on three different levels, and all with their own intensity: synergetic, indifferent and, in worst cases, antagonistic. Because no matter the shape of the music, we associate ourselves with the lyrics, the production, the vocals we listen to, such that they root themselves in something that we become familiar with. And what better way to express it by nicknaming it?

In this contest, you'll be tasked to nickname a song (or album, as you prefer) by 15 of the forum's most beloved female artists by following a specific theme for each one of them.

Understandably, the number of rounds is 15, one per female artist and her respective theme. The female artists of our contest are:

Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Björk, Britney Spears, Cher, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Shakira and Taylor Swift.

The respective themes will be revealed every round.

In addition to them, I'll ask you to submit two more female artists and themes of your choice. The ones with the most votes will be added as the two bonus rounds. Be strategic and convince others to choose your favourite if you can!

RULES:

1) Each round lasts a week and will be centered around a female artist and a theme (e.g., Christina Aguilera and Weather).

2) In the first days of that week, you'll be tasked to submit the funniest nickname of a song/album of that artist in respect to the theme you can think of (e.g., Keeps Getting Drier). You can only submit ONE nickname per turn, via Google Form or via PM.

3) In the following days to that, you'll have to rate all the submitted nicknames for that round. You can give a score that ranges between 5 and 10. No comments are allowed, save them for the thread. Note that your score for your own nickname won't be counted.

4) PLEASE DON'T REVEAL YOUR SUBMITTED NICKNAME! Only at the end of the contest I'll reveal who submitted what. Suspense and mystery are fundamental to keep the thread as entertaining as possible. Accusations are allowed though, so have fun with them!

5) This is extremely important: be cheeky, funny, and creative in your silliness, but NEVER offensive. There's a reason why Ace is supervising this thread, so the first one that DARES to take it too far by mistaking this contest as an idiotic excuse to be pathetically phobic is getting the boot. This is NOT SYG. And another warning: we're gonna make fun of everyone's fave, so if you can't take jokes, don't joke with others. Nobody has the time, nor the energy for some prickly bullshit.

4) The last day of the week I'll reveal the results for that round, and the cycle repeats itself until the last round.

To summarize, this is a non-elimination, turn- and theme-based nickname contest where the user with the highest overall average score will be declared the winner!

SCHEDULE AND DEADLINES:

• October 10th at 6 p.m. CEST: participation deadline + the one to submit the two female artists and their respective (or general) themes of your choice. No postponing allowed.

• October 11th at 6 p.m. CEST: reveal of the two bonus female artists and their themes. START OF THE CONTEST.

Starting from that moment and for all the rounds:

1) Weekly deadline to submit your nickname: every Tuesday at 6 p.m. CEST. Two/three days to submit one, basically. I'll upload the whole nickname list later that Tuesday or on Wednesday.

2) Weekly deadline to rate all the nicknames: every Saturday at 6 p.m. CEST. You have three/four days to submit your ballot.

3) On every Sunday at 6 p.m. CEST I'll reveal the top 5 overall average scores for that week, followed by the rest of the overall average scores.

4) After that, the next round starts and the cycle repeats itself.

PENALTIES:

A) What happens if I'm not able to submit/send my nickname on time?

You won't be able to join in for that turn, and will be given an automatic 5 for it. *sad trombone*

B) What happens if I did send it, but I didn't/couldn't rate all the other nicknames?

Simple: You're giving a free 8 to all the other nicknames. Every action has its consequences!

C) What if my nickname doesn't respect the theme?

My sweet potato, I spent many hours thinking about themes that could give us fresh takes while still being easily associable with each artist, and it would be offensive if I were to read something that comes from a Katy vs Gaga base thread… I'm just asking you to be creative, have fun with it. If not, you'll be given a -2.0 penalty.

D) What happens if I reveal my submitted nickname(s)?

Well, you've just given yourself a -1.0 penalty for the next turn, congrats!

Think carefully about it before doing so! It's gonna be a LONG contest where WEEKLY participation from October to February is needed. To give you a more practical example: submitting your nickname requires you just a few seconds (excluding the whole thinking process behind it), but rating the other nicknames needs more time (it could be 2 minutes, could be 15, could more or even less: it all depends on the final numbers of participants).

Wait so on the form are we submitting two female artists not from your original list and then theme suggestions? Or do we send the nicknames there?
