I'm only a casual listener of Arianka but I was also surprised to see the album panned so much. I thought it was ok, probably on the same level of the rest of her discography. It's not like she was ever some great albums artist anyway (at least to me). I'll probably spin it a few more times to pick out the best songs.

I was a bit surprised too but Manchester is one of the most Labour areas in the country and I do think there has been renewed Labour optimism following Burnham becoming PM. The real test, however, will be whether they can sustain it until the next GE, which is still 3 years away... the honeymoon period for Burnham won't last forever.

I don't think this is the case and the examples you cited don't really support your thesis. I do agree that Tyla was never 'the next Rihanna' and people who said that were running a mass gaslighting campaign But there are many talented black women who never get mainstream push and remain flops meanwhile women like Gracie blow up despite being very mediocre and uninteresting. I would be curious to see some actual statistics on this though, but from the artists you cited it sounds like pretty standard marketing campaigns from the industry to promote their artists...
