The irony is that the bigger the records get, the less incentive there seems to be for her to slow down and widen the gap between albums. When you're constantly breaking records, commercial validation makes quality control feel less urgent, and that's where I think Taylor's been since Midnights -> TTPD -> Showgirl: numbers keep getting bigger but at the same time the music needs more time in the oven.
