Charli xcx - 'Music, Fashion, Film'
After further listenings I'm liking 2007 and NOLF (the latter being Twice's grown up sibling which I love) Hoping I come around to the rest in time

Do you believe in giving elders respect just because they're your elders?
no one of the few saving graces of western culture is that we're free of that nonsense (relatively speaking)

Charli xcx - 'Music, Fashion, Film'
well... I wanted her to go back to pre-BRAT levels of fame and to tank her career a bit in the process if needed, but she didn't need to go this far not feeling it

Kelela - 'new avatar'
not as good as Raven/TMA but maybe that's the price we pay for not having to wait 6 years between releases I agree with the Pitchfork score (unfortunately), still a great album overall!

ionnalee - 'ionnalee's MOUTH OF A RIVER, pt. 1-3'
the idea MACHINEE ran out of juice during the Obama administration, i wouldn't count on it ot: these have both been duds yeah... i'm not sure what comes next for her. maybe the €1000 watercolour paintings and patreon money can keep the rent paid indefinitely at least
- Which Madonna album since 2010s has the best lead single?

People just blindly hate anything AI
I get why that reaction would feel frustrating. If someone doesn't have drawing or design skills, using AI to create a rough visual reference can be genuinely useful. There's a big difference between saying "this is a finished original design I personally made from scratch" and saying "I used AI to help visualize an idea." That said, I also think some of the backlash comes from real concerns people have about AI: artists losing work, training data being used without consent, low-effort AI spam, and people passing off generated work as fully handmade. Those concerns aren't automatically "blind hate," even if some people express them badly. The best middle ground is probably transparency. Say clearly that it's AI-generated, that it's meant as a concept/reference, and that you're open to feedback on the idea rather than claiming it as a polished design. People may still dislike it, but that at least separates reasonable criticism from knee-jerk outrage. I wouldn't let the worst reactions push you into supporting AI just to annoy people, though. That only turns it into another culture-war thing. Use the tool where it helps, be honest about it, and ignore the people who can't discuss it without attacking you.
