The Lounge

The Lounge is the space for casual conversations, everyday topics, and community-friendly discussion. It’s meant to be inclusive, accessible, and suitable for the general ATRL audience. Threads that lean into more adult, explicit, or 18+ territory should be posted in The Roof.

General

Thread titles

• Keep titles inclusive so all members can participate. Do not frame topics in ways that exclude people based on sexuality, race, or identity.

• Avoid shock value, clickbait phrasing, or unnecessary capitalization.

• Titles should accurately reflect the conversation you’re starting.

Conduct

• Be respectful. Engage with the topic rather than attacking other members.

• Avoid antagonistic tone, bait replies, or reaction gifs used to provoke.

• If a discussion becomes heated or personal, disengage instead of escalating.

Banned Threads

The following types of threads are not allowed in The Lounge (or anywhere on ATRL). Repeatedly posting off-limits content may result in warnings or removal from the section.

Do not post:

• Disturbing or traumatic news stories, especially those involving children, graphic violence, or sexual crimes

• Spam or game-style threads (e.g., “rate the person above you”)

• Threads centered entirely on random images or gifs with no discussion prompt

• “Is <person> hot?” or similar objectification threads

• Threads that duplicate or closely mirror active Lounge discussions

• Threads calling out individual members or groups of members

• Threads with no meaningful discussion potential

• Threads stereotyping or generalizing groups of people

• Threads attacking or mocking other communities or platforms

• Random chatroom-style threads (use Random Thoughts instead)

• Threads inviting sexual or explicit conversation (these belong in The Roof)

Sensitive Topics

The Lounge is not intended for heavy or divisive subjects. If your thread centers on politics, religion, discrimination, or similar issues, it may be redirected to the appropriate section. If sensitive conversations escalate, moderators may close the thread without extended explanation.
