She hasn't been operating in her career as a MPG for over a decade atp so I'm not sure why this point keeps getting hammered home. She has had huge moments like Flowers when she does skew more mainstream pop, but an album like Something Beautiful is not trying to compete with Sabrina/Olivia/Billie/Taylor etc, it's simply not that kind of music. Bass Persuades is a bop, but isn't the kind of music that is smashing right now and that's okay. She's beyond the point where her legacy relies on hits or streaming numbers.

Their discography is aging immaculately and lbr 200KM/HITWL is lowkey the best europop album of all time It's a shame that there was so much mess around them because their music is amazing

I think it's just a stylistic choice in the visual branding of this era. Other stars have done this too, Kylie Minogue uses her first and last name professionally but literally all of her album covers since 1994 have just said "Kylie". Several of Mariah's albums just use her first name too (Rainbow, Glitter, E=MC2)
