I think he's now got a permanent mark on his reputation (which he seems to care a lot about), but I do think anyone who believes that this will truly undo him in the way it probably deserves to is being optimistic. He'll be fine. In a just world such a gross capitulation to these people would be a career ender, but we're not in that world yet.

It's certainly in her top 3. Paradise (Not for Me) is the best song she's ever released so that alone makes it an all timer but then you've also got Impressive Instant, Don't Tell Me, Amazing, Music, and Gone there doing amazing things. There's not a single weak track on it really.

Correct. It won't count toward the album until she releases an edition of the album with it on the track list. As of now, she has not. Love Sensation with Kylie and Danceteria with Charli exist only as standalone singles at the moment. And frankly I doubt they'll ever be added unless she down the line combines the clearly coming remix album and the original album into one thing.

I hadn't considered it but I wonder if physical editions is the distinction. If you want to call something a reissue, it has to he re-pressed, re-sold, and maybe even replace the original edition. Like The Fame Monster is counted as a reissue of The Fame by most sources for example, and was indeed a completely new pressing.

What? All three of his existing albums are incredibly different from each other, and this one is once more different. He hasn't repeated himself once so far. We're a long, long way from Blue Neighborhood or even Bloom.

Yes there can be major budgets and samples without the songs smashing. This has been consistent with Troye pretty much his whole career. He had had 1, maybe 2 true hits and yet the budget and investment's never dried up (or at least he knows how to do more with a little less). And no, a constant discussion about numbers is not fun. It's incredibly boring, circular, and pretty irrelevant to the lives of anyone who uses this place. People who prioritize talking numbers over discussing the work itself to me are just not worth engaging with and this forum would lose nothing if they weren't posting anymore. It just screams "I cannot discuss art with critically because I don't really understand it so I'm gonna discuss numbers instead because someone else has done the thinking for me."

I wonder if they make a distinction between re-issues and deluxe editions. As in counting re-issues as a separate entity entirely.
