i mean the strangeness is pretty polite all things considered, they could have brought a few other things up

one of the things i really like about the best damn thing is that she stops performing "being authentic" and just starts playing up being a brat who's not like the other girls, which is basically her interview persona from her early career anyway. for all everyone bitched about her going pop or whatever it feels a lot more authentic to what she's like (OT: it's a thousand miles ffs!)

i think the danger with britney is that it gets airbrushed like the amy winehouse and whitney biopics and ends up not being as interesting as the real thing, where neither were as good as the high profile documentaries made about them. there'll be a lot of backroom lobbying from people who come out of this very badly (see also what happened with michael, which i think initially drew in some of his "controversies" and was eventually cut to ribbons) in fact given how well known britney's story is and how hard it would be to cast her as responsible for what happened during the conservatorship, it might even be that it gets tied up in lawsuits and/or canned rather than a whitewash? i guess that it's all out there in print already but i don't think that's ever stopped anyone hiring a lawyer the book itself i thought was really harrowing, i read it twice and the second half is nightmarish, i do wonder what sort of happy ending they'll try to give her

i'd think just given the huge success of "the woman in me" memoir they'd be cueing up to throw money at this thing

dig RO out every so often, think "it's alright isn't it", don't listen to it for another 6 months

for all the talk of filler on rihanna albums a lot of them are pretty solid just because she's singing on them, like there are songs on TTT which would objectively be trash in anyone else's hands but she makes them good, it's a lot more listenable than it should be OT: GGGB, loud, ANTI. loud is the weakest of the three but it's still mainly end to end bops, GGGB and ANTI are both really strong in different ways

i don't even know if this is the same as britney, where there were at least obvs ways in which her sexuality was exploited while she was very young. like who is this woman, "technically legal" lmfao sabrina is 27 years old, spends most of her time in sexy clothes and sings lots of songs about sex, some deranged people on the internet can try and drag the idea of her being like a child into this but they're saying a lot more about themselves than her
