she has a very dialled in fanbase but this is not a reach out to the general public sort of album, i didn't think it would do that well tbh

songs like rein me in make me want to have a rule when they just chuck it out after 6 months and who cares what anyone thinks about it, it's gone on long enough now

i don't think ME! is a bad song, it just has a lot of musical theatre energy which was never going to survive contact with the wider world (esp ATRL). you need to calm down has a much stronger case for being an actual bad song

honestly i think she released rock music to flop, it's easily the worst of the three, barely has a tune, doesn't even crack 2 minutes, i suspect it's bothering ATRL a lot more than charli

i loved secret of us cos it's so hooky but also full of all that anxious perspective so i was a bit wary of this but i'm a third of the way thru and...it seems alright? i wasn't expecting it to be full of tunes so actually the fact that it's got some is a bonus, could do with more bangers but i can see myself enjoying it a lot once its played in, agree that she could do with moving on from dessner (why do these girls always use the same half a dozen producers?!)
