if anything she should have made her vocals even lower tbh but I like the new BACK UP especially the new lil background adlibs added after "back uppppp" in the second chorus (at about 2:00)

The double standards she gets is so interesting. Like in the 2018-2022 period, she was shaded constantly for the performance of her soundtrack album, her collaboration album, and her live album. Meanwhile another popstar made a soundtrack album that flopped harder that same year as The Gift. No noise. Another popstar had a collaboration album in the 2010s that flopped harder than EIL. No noise. Another popstar (arguably one of the biggest of all time) put out a live album and it didn't sell nearly as much as Homecoming opening week. No noise. But apparently Beyoncé's anniversary edition needs to be a huge hit or it's an issue.

A press release is clearly PR? Wow! You really cracked that code! But her announcing it and using most of the four paragraphs (which on ATRL is referred to as an "essay") to explain the purpose and history of the museum will ALSO inevitably generate a lot of knowledge, buzz, and attraction for a museum that I'm assuming most people in this thread, New York City, America, and the world have never heard of before she donated money to it. She could have donated money quietly and all those people and NYC tourist would have no clue about this museum, but instead she donated money and likely will generate a boost in ticket sales since we have statistical data that shows how Beyoncé use of museums has led to increased interest in the past. Before we start realizing that a press release is PR, maybe we should begin to think what goals a press release serves based on what it actually says.

the question remains, will this thread have even half the posts the box thread has? will everyone who posted or reacted in that thread be here? will they be satisfied? probably not.

Not to be looking for hints because I generally don't, but I wonder if her interest in this specific museum has anything to do with act iii such that the Harlem Renaissance has been cited as an inspiration in certain aspects, and that perhaps there is a jazz element to some of the album (as we know she doesn't just do genres as is, but makes her own musical gumbo). anyway.

If she does an IASF re-release she better wear archive Mugler : )

I think this is just like a droplet, not meant to be taking up much space on charts. I see this era as a similar thing to her 2013 Beyhydration era where she released so music (some officially released, some not), did interviews, toured, etc., everything BUT release the album we expected until we all gave up on it and were totally surprised when it did come out (and by what it was, too). To me this is brilliant. Because with act i and act ii establishing a pattern, simply releasing act iii as expected would have a bit of a damp reception, in my opinion. she needed this interim moment, and I think part of that is not releasing singles as sharp and motivated as a lead single should be, but under-the-radar ones people can like but not feel fully satisfied with (like Turnt, Bow Down, You've Changed, Grown Woman + Standing on the Sun snippets from commercials etc. etc. in 2013).

it's kind of funny to see her in jeans and a going out top again lol this era of pop is long gone, even the people who dress like this (PinkPanthress) are doing so as a costume. This was just everyday clothing and you'd see it at events, music videos and even on stage.

tbh she should re-release house of dereon as her associated "product" for act iii. though I think it's a bit late. in 2022 or so when that Miu Miu skirt was all the rage, it would have been a perfect time to revive the slutty but studious looking style of the mid-2000s house of dereon.

The crazy thing is she has made it almost impossible (as a not bitter fan) to pick a best album, because there are so many great points for so many albums, and each with individual unique things the others don't do. But one thing we can say for sure is B'Day is the Beyoncé blueprint.

The funny thing is he had nothing to do with it (though maybe the deluxe which is probably why it's so much worse than the standard).
