This! It feels like people have a hard time understanding that pop doesn't really have a particular sound and that music can be multiple genres. Even the "pure pop" stuff people love on her is rooted in dance and electronic music, just like how the music of Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and The Supremes is rooted in R&B. The same applies to Shakira and Shania Twain with Latin and Country music respectively. Pop itself feels like a songwriting style more than anything else.

The only thing that I want to add to this discourse is that I don't like the finger-wagging about a forum that's predominantly gay men, many of whom are from Europe, having a lot to say about surrogacy. It's largely the only way for many AMAB LGBTQ+ people to have biological children, and coupled with the fact that surrogacy is viewed differently in Europe, it makes sense why this inspires such ... spirited discussion, especially from a celebrity like Lady Gaga. And not to get prescriptive and preachy on a Sunday, but I think we should all try to separate these real-world topics -- whenever they appear -- from our faves and the more stannish parts of this site. It'll probably be better for everyone.
