ATRL | Obsessed With Pop Culture™

Absolute TRL was founded in 1999 by Joseph Snyder as a fan site of MTV's TV Show Total Request Live. Originally, the site focused on maintaining a complete and comprehensive archive of recaps, records and other statistics.  In 2005, the main site was closed in favor of the forum, which has become a mainstay of pop culture discussion to this day.

We briefly rebranded to PopFusion in 2006, and retained that name for a year. In 2007 we rechristened ourselves ATRL.

ATRL was — and is — a safe space for fans to discuss their chosen artists, celebrity culture and more.

Described by Buzzfeed as "a space for fans to argue in favor of their chosen artist with statistics and ideas about cultural impact," ATRL is more than just the artists the community stans for. We are a predominantly LGBTQ+ forum and strive to have a community that is diverse in makeup as well as thought, and a safe space for members to explore real life happenings in the world in our popular Political space.

In the first quarter of 2023, ATRL has averaged 6.3 million views a month.

ATRL's leadership team is owner @josephs911 and co-administrators @Lee!! and @Ryan Follow us on Twitter @atrl
