This is a pretty inconsistent narrative to craft because you cannot make the same argument in equal weight for both Jews and Muslims. American Jews are beneficiaries of white supremacy through the colonial Jewish Supremacist ideology of Zionism. That same dynamic does not apply to Muslims who are radicalized as an "other barbaric, migrant" caste. Islamophobia is rooted in every facet of Western society to the point that it has destroyed entire nations and cost trillions of dollars. Not even a fraction of this same dynamic exists for the extremely privileged Jewish population, half of whom are genocidal settlers occupying stolen land with the full backing of Western governments and society. I think Mr. "Islam is a cancer on global society" needs to pipe down on conversations pertaining to systemic discrimination vs. individual bigotry. A microcosm of the material difference between Islamophobia and antisemitism can be seen through you, where saying such a thing doesn't get you a ZTP because of mainstream acceptance of such hatred of Muslims but if "Judaism is a cancer on global society" were even uttered by anyone, immediate permaban. Systemic discrimination is a very serious structural long standing issue. Europe is a different question (though with the overcorrection of many EU govs to criminalize antizionist dissent in efforts to ostensibly "protect" their Jewish populations, as well as various socioeconomic data, I would say the same), I wouldn't say Jews in America are victims of it, in the same way I wouldn't say Irish or Italians are. This isn't the early 20th century. Socioeconomic data, avenues for (and denial of) opportunity, discrimination on the basis of identity, etc. all factor into making this claim. The arguments made against it are all based on individual outcomes and sound eerily reminiscent of saying white privilege (lol which Jewish Americans are the beneficiaries of) doesn't exist because of the existence of poor whites. But I'm in agreement with the rest of your post, I just think when you connect enough of these dots in his administration, it's pretty concerning. All of it goes back to Tisch (the comayor) and the proxy battle he'll have to fight against the gang that is the NYPD to maintain some semblance of control and success in his mayorship.

Ok if that is the case, then do you not see how concerning it is that Mamdani is funneling more city resources (increasing the infrastructure for surveillance) into policing at a time when the NYPD and National policing "orgs" and gov (and media) at every level are responsible for conflating antizionism with antisemitism? Should the movement just brush aside the fact that Mamdani chose to deliberately not even mention the reality of this conflation when it's been used as a justification to shut down every protest in the city by the NYPD? Is it not concerning that he cites bogus NYpD crime statistics built on this conflation then proceeds to put out a plan that requires students to visit an explicitly Zionist org like the Museum of Jewish Heritage which held vile Islamophobic events? Why is $26 million being used to protect already one of the most protected and privileged communities in the city at the expense of other initiatives that should go to more underserved ethnic communities in the city???

There's a VERY serious conversation that needs to be had in left-liberal spaces (that actually thanks to this insidious move by Mamdani seems to finally be starting) on yet again learning the differences between instances of individual bigotry and longstanding actual structural discrimination. As Norm Finkelstein so eloquently puts it below, antisemitism is not systemic, whereas anti-black racism, Islamophobia (lest we forget Sen. Gilibrand calling Mamdani a jihadist and suffering no consequences), transphobia manifest themselves in horrific daily police brutality, complete denial of social services and opportunities, wars, genocides, etc. To suggest that the former is even in the same level as the latter (and devote $26 million in taxpayer money to "combat it") is a brutish minimization of these serious forms of prejudice. I don't understand how left-liberals can leave the BLM movement acknowledging the differences between systems versus individuals as they apply to unequal distribution of victims of police brutality and then not apply that framework onto one of the most privileged ethnic groups in NYC and the country at large. It's even more insidious when these left liberals know damn well that it's used as a constant cudgel to obfuscate the Palestinian genocide and whitewash the DAILY crimes against humanity of Zionism.

While he concurrently proceeds to do nothing to materially support the Palestinian movement except plant an olive tree at Gracie Mansion. Furthermore you cannot provide a coherent strategy or definition of antisemitism without First clarifying that the illegitimate state of "Israel" (whom many of the orgs Zohran is funneling money into explicitly support) is primarily responsible for any perceived rise of antisemitism as it does every action, with the full consent of Western govs and Media, in the name of the Jewish people, a material reality that Mamdani completely and utterly failed to address in this video. As for this initiative, it is a nonsense waste of taxpayer money that is yet another capitulation to Zionist interests in the city for the reasons described below: Instead of following clear demands laid out by the Palestinian Youth Movement to Fire notorious ZioNazi NYPD police commissioner Jessica Tisch, disband the Strategic Response Group (which he campaigned on), revoke tax exempt status of any NYC org violating international law by hosting illegal West Bank settlement real estate fairs, he is engaging in whatever this is to appease folks who will not be appeased by it. All of this is to say there is no concurrent initiative to combat anti-black racism or Islamophobia in the city which would require significantly higher investments considering they are ACTUALLY systemic forms of discrimination against more marginalized populations.

It actually is not. Any data that shows an ostensible "increase" in antisemitism comes from deliberate conflation of antizionism with antisemitism. In other words orgs like the ADL will count counter protests to West Bank Land Sales in certain Zionist NYC synagogues as "antisemitic" or folks wearing keffiyehs at a protest as a "jewish hate crime." This data and hysteria is largely manufactured to create a hysteria designed to pivot attention away from the ongoing Palestinian genocide.

They'll win the midterms and 2028 and begin the process of rehabbing the Trump admin/not actually holding anyone accountable/doing anything to stop the trajectory, Iran War def will not be stopped (the game of hot potato to the next admin for other Middle East forever wars will continue), a couple of institutional bandaids will be put in place, and all that will be ripped off when the next Trump comes along in the 2030s.
