I think it's hard for some to recognize the sheer size and scope of Taylormania as a phenomenon because it wasn't right in their face and we're in such a right-in-your-face kind of culture right now. It wasn't their fave, it wasn't in their personal feed, it wasn't an artist they even like for a lot of them - so it's easy to write off as having been much less significant than it actually was. And of course, there are those special few who are motivated by jealousy and spite to actively pretend it wasn't a big deal.

Only the most delusional of people pretend Taylormania wasn't a big deal. The way it massively boosted her discography in the long run isn't something you can rationally deny, she got a whole new fanbase out of that tour.

the song is cute but basic. It keeps building and building for no reason If this is the strongest song then it will be a bland record for sure.

Listening to reputation: Gateway Car, don't blame me, dress, so it goes, delicate, dancing with our hands tied and call it what you want are cleaning every other song released by other pop girls since 2017. I mean they all should've been the official singles

I promise you, it was in their feeds, even if they won't admit it. Even my friends with zero interest in pop culture were bombarded with Eras Tour videos for a long time.

Yeah, this keeps happening every single time someone has a huge boost from something and they miss the point each time.

There have been several huge moments lately that gave artists massive boosts (Bunny at SB, Bieber at Coachella), but they don't even come close to the Eras mania, as impressive as they are.

The whole peak of Taylor mania from 2023-24 was about a lot more than just streaming numbers. If you consider everything else (if I tried to list all the things she achieved in 2023 alone, my post would break the page) her peak becomes even more incomparable. But if streams are angle we are discussing, people fail to realize Taylor literally gained 37 BILLION streams on Spotify from June 2023 to June 2024. She was averaging 100 million streams per day for a YEAR and her numbers were stable the entire time.

Two months after Bad Bunny's Super Bowl, he is now down to 58 million daily streams… and this is while he's on tour. Just like Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber will be back down to whatever he was doing prior to Coachella in several weeks or a month at best. To put that into perspective; Bad Bunny and Justin Bieber's moments saw them peaking at ~100 million for a few days. Taylor matched their peak streams for a year straight.

The constant need for people to undermine the fact that Taylor's mania peak was truly unprecedented and will never be replicated is so silly. As usual, they're arguing absolute facts and receipts with thoughts and vibes.
