She deff chose the right lead single cuz Patient Zero's chorus has been on repeat in my head. I think the radio edit will also eat cuz it might chop a bit of the clunky bridge which actually does work well as a spoken word moment BUT is too long and run on imo. If they manage to edit out some parts of it and still make it make sense then that would be awesome!

Luckily she has way more support than hate in the grand scheme of things and I deff know she knows it because she wouldnt be so confident if she didnt! I know our girly has anxiety and self doubt and stuff low key but I deff know she knows she is loved because whilst the twitter think pieces are scathing, she ultimately almost always gets critical recognition and massive sales so it shows her ppl do get her work and ppl do enjoy it! One thing I dont understand from the ppl criticising her is that they seem genuinly angry she released new music. Like I get the argument of "if she let it bake more she could give us something better" and while that does sometimes work for some artists that just hasnt been her MO like EVER Her albums are literally like 10 out 12 EXCELLENT and two sort of lukewarm projects and yet she's never taken a longer gap than 2 and a half years meaning time isnt an indication of greater quality work. It just means you have perhaps fallen out of love with this iteration of her work but as I posted in my comment above, Taylor ALWAYS ends up shedding her skin and transforming her work after she's done completely using up the current sonic palette / wave she is on so I just wish ppl who dont like the current music could check back when she eventually pivots again like she has always done! That's part of what makes her so great. She just doesnt do it from album to album it takes many years and many records before the shift fully occures and I actually view that as a much more sincere and genuine artistic pivot and journey than just doing the Madonna route of transforming from album to album (which at the time was of course ICONIC but many popgirls insincerely mimicked that later on and it just doesnt do it for me nor does it do it for Taylor seemingly).

Yeah I am reading yallz reviews and comments and stuff and I deff think the criticism is fair but some of yall are criticizing her for the wrong things low key. My biggest gripe with Showgirl was that it just didnt sound Max Martin enough and that she seemed way too focused fitting as many lyrics as she could into pretty vanilla production that didnt allow the lyrics to flow and when they did the substance of much of the lyrics fell a little flat but that was just for like 4 ish songs imo. My ONLY recent concern is her melodies. Her songwriting overall is still solid but the production of her music and the melodies themselves feel way too spaced out on Showgirl and The Encore? I cant explain it properly but it feels like smoke u cant hold on to...it's very scattered and misty. I view Showgirl as a pretty transitional album and these deluxe tracks kinda confirm it for me. It's a bit like how Lover was kinda pretty vanilla sounding for the most part and then it ended up leading to something great aka Folklore. It's like she came at an impasse with Lover and I think the same is happening with Showgirl. I think TS13 is going to be a lot stronger and possibly an entirely different sonic palette again. A new pivot that will also last another 4-5 years before she once again transforms. She sheds skins like a snake. It doesnt happen from album to album. It happens after she completely uses up every bit of the current sound she is on and then pivots after a transitional record.

Omg I snuck to the bathroom to listen to patient zero and it's such a quirkie sounding song. It feels like Anti -hero in a way minus the super catchy bridge of AH! Excited to listen to the other ones! Hopefully on my way back from work

It would be amazing if they made an entire album together . I feel like more western artists should work with Japanese music producers

I have a theory about the mv: Taylor is a dead actress and Dakota is playing a role the dead actress once played / or is playing the dead actress's life in a movie or something (hence the paralleling / mirroring of the two of them). The scene where Dakota is sat facing Collin Ferrell and Taylor just walking up in the middle towards them feels like they dont see her or at least Colin doesnt seen her. It's like Taylor is haunting Dakota and through her is going to get vengeance on Collin or something? idk...I feel like that could tie in the whole showgirl theme in a way?

I am refusing to read any of the leaked lyrics cuz I wanna be gagged. The sad thing is I have an overnight shift at work from 11pm to 7am and I do not want to listen to the tracks in a rushed environment I'll have to wait until like tomorrow morning on my bus ride back home

She has a solid artistic vision which is very surprising. The music itself on her debut album isn't wow but the way she performs the songs, the music videos and her general energy and aesthetic points to lots of incredible potential. She is exciting in ways a girl group cannot be because u are way more restrained by the label when u work in a group . Katseye do have potential as soloists too (especially Lara imo….shes also someone who is captivating to watch on screen or stage so I hope she makes a great solo record when she's done with Katseye).

I deff think this will go #1 after Patient Zero. Tay is prob gonna snatch a solid like 4-5 weeks but Nicole Kidman during that time will be growing on radio and prob still be steady in the top 3 on US spotify battling it out with Choosin Texas and Patient Zero. This is totally going #1 in aa month or so.

physicals of The Encore or perhaps Debut TV still happening this year? I feel like she wont do physicals for this deluxe cuz she kinda convinced everyone Showgirl would be 12 songs so many ppl took her word and just bought the physical at the time assuming there wouldnt a new edition and I think she's really aware of that tbh. It's very considerate of her low key lol. So I guess maybe it is single vinyls of Patient Zero? either way I am so excited!

kinda shook Ari is still top 10! happy for her. Petal is a solid album just needed more oumpf in her vocal delivery to flesh out the excellent melodies on the songs.
