I have noticed this. One of the biggest mysteries to me is how there's this overwhelming demand for pop stars to provide dance pop songs that are driven by production by gay men. If a song doesn't have that it's labeled as boring and basic. And then when someone delivers that they are criticized for not doing something different. Or the juex de position of disliking one artist and liking another who literally put out the same kind of music. I truly don't understand it.

Casual music listeners are not going to the store buying vinyls. They're streaming.

I don't think it harmed her career. It brought in her biggest hit, and despite what people say about it, its her most streamed album right now. I think it did its job as a market shifter into less depressing music, which is what she wanted. The response to I Knew It, I Knew You being what it was says to me that regardless of if it helped or harmed her technically, it doesn't matter.

Her writing this album is so impressive to me.

I love the scene inside the heart pendant with that retro showgirl look. I'm still hoping she revisits that kind of vibe/aesthetic in a future album. When Opalite was announced as a single, I really thought she'd do it there. You Need To Calm Down is so infectious to me. It used to sneak its way into my head constantly and I'd have to give the song so many streams.

My first impression of this album is that its great. I'm very much not someone who follows her, but I think it puts into perspective her personal life, romantic life, and her relationship with the fame she's gotten since Good Riddance, but I also think it pivots back to that. I have a feeling leaning more into the folk and less into the accessible pop is where she wants to be. Because of that, I can understand, especially on ATRL, how some people may find this record boring. This forum is full of people who predominantly listen to dance pop music and who put a much bigger emphasis on production - and this is very much not that, but Gracie has never been that. While I did enjoy her discography leading up to this album, the songwriting and melodic composition on this far exceeds what she has done in the past. I see a lot of growth in her skillset there. The droplets she put out before release gave me high expectations and she didn't disappoint. I will be listening to it again. My standout tracks are Hit The Wall, Death Wish, Look At My Life, Good Reason, Mews, Imaginary Friend, Afflictions, Humming.

I'm one of the like 5 people on ATRL who like Joanne, but I voted for Lemonade.

Its my most listened to Kesha album. Really love it.
