It's so weird. Modern social media culture has rotted stan brains to the point they think it's normal to do the digital equivalent of walking into a room where everyone is happily discussing something and then tell every single person there how much they don't like the thing. A hundred times weirder and more unhealthy than positively-oriented parasocial obsession, which is already a problem. Like, being genuinely incapable of containing your disdain for an artist to the degree of OTHs on here, to the degree that it actually seems like compulsive behavior, is legitimately concerning.

I'm genuinely a little confused by people who love the cover, but like more power to y'all I won't judge I'll probably be keeping the "Crowd Is Your King" edition cover in my library, personally. The new one just doesn't do it for me - I even prefer the standard edition cover over it. But I never hated the standard cover anyway.

Which is fair as far as the quality of the music and hoping these new tracks are an improvement, but has basically nothing to do with how people are getting mad over such minuscule things as her bringing up the album's record breaking debut in an announcement about the album's deluxe edition.

I swear to god some of y'all literally spend your time hunting for things to be mad at, like imagine being mad that the announcement of a deluxe for this album dares to… mention the album's most significant achievement and one of the biggest achievements of her career

Notably, when you google "pink clouding," the top hit is "SVU," and it's pretty easy to relate "patient zero" to Grey's Anatomy so… same old Taylor as usual

So wait whoever said something yesterday about the tracks being "a Lady Gaga song from Chromatica," "Florida!!! but different," and "💕☁️" had actual tea???

You know what, I'm kinda mad af, but I'll survive. Bring on the variants, my wallet's been aching lately anyway.

I think at this point it would take a pretty significant push from Ella and her label to prevent this from easily hitting #1 on streams and radio alone. Points are low right now, even for Choosin' Texas, and IKIIKY getting dropped like a rock on radio (probably in part because her label knew this was coming) will help this have a stronger start than if it were still gaining. It's possible, and we still aren't sure how severely she'll be impacted by this being standalone rather than with an album/deluxe all at once, but this would have to really tank for that to happen IMO.

I Knew It, I Knew You went #1 for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and was her third #1 so far during the current calendar year.

I never really understand what anyone gets out of dragging any artist for failing to live up to their expectations of that artist's success, but seriously: what does anyone get out of dragging Miley Cyrus? Why bother? Either you like the music she releases and you're good to go, or you don't and it has genuinely no material impact on your life. She doesn't even have the kind of fanbase that's so big and dedicated that you're likely to interact with them without going out of your way to do so, so it's not like they're going to be coming after you in such a way (or in such numbers) that warrants being snarky back. She's not a bad person, she's not particularly problematic, the music is inoffensive even if you don't like it, she's not so huge that any minor controversies about her would yield and measure of productive widespread discourse - what's the point? She's got what she needs out of life and her career, doesn't really need to prove herself any further, and I hope she continues to be comfortable and happy.

Bought the instrumental album because I like the Aftermath instrumental so much that it's worth the money on its own

Once in a while I have to giggle to myself when I recall a time on this site when someone appeared to have a whole meltdown because they unironically believed, because of like a tweet or something, that Taylor was advertising stray hairs from her cats getting into packages as an incentive to buy signed copies

Kind of, but also not. Singles from reissues are often counted separately, officially, but even Billboard is a little inconsistent about that.

Honestly the listed shipping date is far enough out for them to just make a couple more large batches if they want, since it only takes a few weeks to produce CDs - then she can ship the first batch early, the second batch a little later, split the tracking weeks, secure more weeks at #1... I see you Taytay

It's always so fascinating to me that people have just decided every single Taylor Swift song is about a real person and scenario and then decide to get mad about it and insult her on the internet. Like it never crosses their mind that she can and does just make some **** up entirely. I guess that's on media literacy rates or something.

I think it would remain grouped together with the original as TS12 just like The Anthology is always grouped with the rest of TTPD as TS11 rather than being considered distinct - as long as it's only released as a double disc edition, that is. If it's longer than an EP and gets a full standalone release, then I think it becomes a little murkier, like the distinction between The Fame and The Fame Monster, but I really doubt she'd ever do that. She's chart conscious enough that I think she'll ensure that it's either so short a standalone release isn't warranted or that it will only be sold as a full deluxe together so that all the streams and sales count together, which will significantly boost the chart longevity of The Life of a Showgirl both in the short term (that is, probably several weeks at #1) and in the long term, plus not counting as a new album because she knows TS13 will have to be a huge moment, plus no risk of screwing up any of her chart achievements.

All versions have officially sold out in the US. I wouldn't be surprised if we get new listings soon, even for just the original version, since these were labeled as "Collector's Edition CDs."

I really do hope it's something substantial - maybe not 12 new tracks entirely, but that would be ideal. Just four songs would be so...
