No offense (you're one of my favorite members) but there is a very valid reason for Swifties to dislike her. The only reason the "Taylor is a big evil nasty old woman who sued this poor little girl" narrative was allowed to fester was Olivia's refusal to deny it… because she benefits from it. While it may not have impacted her success; this has actively damaged Taylor's reputation. We know she didn't do **** to Olivia or even ask for credits; Jack confirmed they had no clue they were getting credited until they got the news. Meanwhile this is the second album cycle in a row (and now it's worse since Olivia runs her whole show and fired most of her team, as she confirmed in an interview so it's all her doing) where Olivia allowed questions about this situation to be asked, only to give a nothingburger answer that makes it seem like she's Taylor's disgruntled victim. That's a conscious attempt to damage Taylor's image for the sole reason that she benefits from the false narrative. I don't understand why you guys keep coddling that girl considering the amount of flack Taylor's gotten for something she did NOT do, and as I said, it's all because Olivia herself refuses to shut it down. Taylor can't even respond because nobody will believe her, seeing as she's being painted as the villain here. There's also the creepy way she keeps following Taylor's every move (there's nothing wrong with that inherently as it's just an example of her impact), but then she denies her inspiration completely. But that's another topic for another day and not the main issue.

Very weird and tiresome how some of you are always crediting men for her music when we all know she's the driving factor behind whether it's good OR bad. This "hopefully X man she works with saves her" rhetoric is just misogyny.

As much as I disagree with you about Jack, I agree about Aaron. He's excellent at producing country-leaning songs. I Bet You Think About Me, Nothing New, Foolish One… oh the serves if he's all over Debut TV and TS13 (if it's country). With that said, Jack is great at producing country music. Just analog music in general. I'm actually all for him coming back if that's the direction she's going. Where he has been falling short (and I LOVE Middy and TTPD, but it's not his strong suit) is the synth stuff. If Jack does something in the realm of Daddy's Home, Sling, Gaslighter, NFR!, august, illicit affairs, etc for her next album it'll be the best thing ever. Not sure what to expect from this song ngl, though I'm sure it'll be great! But yes, more of Father Aaron too please

Not the CDs already being sold out… Keep the tears coming. The way she's just apparently not supposed to meet the endless physical media demand she has because it hurts the feelings of some lesser artists' stans (whose faves pull the same variant tactics) is HILARIOUS to me. I thought OTHs promised us Swifties were disconnected from her following TLOAS because some people on TikTok said so? Surely this is fake news and not a single CD has been sold!

With that said I still think TLOAS is much better than Lover. I really only love about 5 songs off Lover, which is the same amount of songs I love from Showgirl. But 5/12 > 5/18. I also just have an extreme aversion to Lover for some reason even though I loved it for a cute minute when it dropped. I also much prefer the highs on this album over the ones on Lover or even reputation. But reputation is a more consistent album. I think, though, TLOAS is the final proof needed to say she really doesn't need to do any more of these very commercial sounding pop albums. Lover, reputation, and Showgirl are absolutely in her bottom 4 alongside Debut for me, with Debut in limbo because I know it will leapfrog all 3 in my ranking once we get the re-recording. Like, Midnights stands out compared to the rest of her pop albums because it feels more like a burst of inspiration than an attempt at a commercial juggernaut. Yes, it's pop, but it has the bones of alternative Taylor, if that makes any sense. So if she wanted to do another pop album like that, then that's cool. And 1989 is simply one of those lightning in a bottle moments that is impossible to recreate. Yes, it's commercial, but it stands out because it really is that good. But I hope she goes more into rock, country, and alternative after this and stays there, unless she wants to do a dreampop/shoegaze album. It's not pop music that's the issue, it's the specific type of pop music that she tends to gravitate towards imo. We need her to branch out if she wants to continue doing pop. I love electronic and synth music but she needs to serve something Beach House-esque.

Ugh spill I think Showgirl is a weak album for sure. But the special level of mental illness that transpired in reaction to it is solely because of who released it. If any other girl dropped this, nobody would bat an eye and it would probably have seen praise simply because the standards are so different. It's really just subpar for Taylor's standards, but it gave us Ophelia, Father Figure, and Ruin The Friendship - all of which are career highlights in my opinion. I also love Madonna and Kylie, and this album to me feels like her American Life or X. In the sense that it's a later/mid-stage career album that is quite subpar compared to her usual standards, but it has a couple all-timer songs scattered in as well to offset that. I don't know, that's just how I view it, because I feel the same way about those aforementioned albums.

She's 100% still on the Toy Story soundtrack. All they said is she isn't on the end credits. Just for reference, 3/4 of the Oscar nominated Toy Story songs were used in the movie and not the credits. And this is what we want; it'll be a much bigger moment actually being IN the movie. Most big name movie songs drop 2-3 weeks prior to the movie release. So I'm guessing June 5th. The Chris Stapleton song for TS4 in 2019 also dropped two weeks prior. My working theory is that some intern or useless old man on her team (idk who handles this kinda stuff) accidentally put the countdown up on April 30th when it was meant for May 30th A June 1st announcement for a June 5th release makes perfect sense. I'm kinda confused at everyone thinking it's not happening anymore? Her website used the actual backdrop from Toy Story, which is copyrighted property of Disney. She would not risk getting into legal trouble for funsies over her use of Disney material, so I mean it was obviously for a reason. I don't see any way they could've pulled out last minute either, because 1. why would they when this can be huge and we know she'd love an Oscar? & 2. this was probably a contractual thing they set up a while back. It's definitely happening.

Honestly she could've extended the tour even further with another small leg fully in stadiums but she probably didn't want to push herself too far since she seems to be in great health (which is smart). I see why it did so well, the whole MAYHEM opera thing is one of her best shows to date and you can tell she really put in the effort this time. Also the gross per show is massive considering it was mostly arenas.

Oh absolutely. I've noticed this too, the vibe shift during the past month is very serious. I just saw three instances on my TL of artists praising Taylor back-to-back on the AMAs red carpet It's giving 2021-2023. Also, the very normal and positive reactions to Her courtside appearance… it's giving Scooter/Baldoni's bot farms have been turned off! I kinda think the Toy Story song(s?) are going to bring her great publicity and help with her catalog numbers/viral exposure as well if it's a hit. Then Debut TV this October (and hopefully some stuff for her 20th year anniversary - please a movie/docuseries about the rerecordings and new variants of the original 6 albums!) will help re-humanize her to people who haven't been able to let go of their Showgirl Derangement Syndrome. Also also, her being so visible to fans recently is part of why the vibe has shifted. It's ridiculous that it's like this, but the fact is fans get bored when she's MIA and start nitpicking **** to cope. Seeing her several times a week has given people something else to talk about rather than constantly ***** about how much they hate Showgirl.

Well, she wouldn't attend unless she won artist of the year (and as she should! People can say this is a pretentious take but she IS too big to grace these C-tier award shows with her presence unless awarded handsomely ddd) And there's zero chance of AOTY happening because of BTS. The Instagram posts for fan voting have something like 13 MILLION comments and I wish I was joking At least they've usually always had integrity as far as actually awarding whoever got the most votes, IE Taylor winning in 2020 over Justin despite him attending lol. Which doesn't favor her when BTS is nominated but I'll give them their deserved 7s for being transparent with the wins.

I was watching Kacey Musgraves' interview with Jake Shane (Therapuss) and they had a whole segment where they discussed how with the rise of stan culture, snark, etc, people judge an artist solely by their latest release. Their whole worth is boiled down to whether they liked their most recent output, almost as if the rest of their discography has been erased from existence. This is SOOO true and I was almost giddy to hear two (sorta) prominent people actually discuss this phenomenon. Taylor is probably the best and most egregious example of this, although not the only victim. It's so bizarre to me, you'd think she personally removed all her music from albums 1-11 from every platform with the amount of casual fans who've said suddenly they "can't listen to her the same now" after TLOAS. The dramatics. It's also just giving, like, very miserable vibes. Focusing solely on the fact that you hate your fave's latest output and spending MONTHS in full-on psychosis over it, rather than just… listening to the vast body of music they previously released instead is so funny to me.
