She's making songs for her Latino audience, translating them into English, and trying to have the same success. Like that English Papasito song. That's not really how things work in the U.S. You have to make songs as if they were born to appeal to American or global audiences, like Shakira did with "Objection," "Hips Don't Lie," or "She Wolf." You have to look at it from an American point of view. Not from a latinoamerican one. I also feel like, to make really good songs in English, you need a masterful level of English. I don't know how Shakira did it, but she conquered English really fast. You compare her English from Dónde Están Los Ladrones? to "Laundry Service" and you're like, HOW? Maybe she got the best teachers in the world or is cause shakira is gifted with really high IQ. I think for Karol G, English is more of a tool than a lifestyle. She's too attached to latinidad. Karol G's influences are mostly Latino and Spanish-speaking. She loves Selena Quintanilla and Thalía. Shakira has been a big fan of Donna Summer, '70s and '80s rock, etc. Shakira grew up more in touch with American culture-Anglo tastes I also feel like it's really challenging to write songs in English as a non-native speaker. Like I said in one of my past threads, there's a mental/neural inability to feel English the same way a native speaker does. I can write a song, but I don't know if it will actually work. I feel them different in my brain-ears-cognition. Writing in a different language to your native with proficient level.....It's like baking a cake with your eyes closed. If she were a native English speaker, I'm totally sure she would be able to make some nice english songs.

They all have something special and i love how ecletic is her discography now Younger Now has some beautiful songs, but it definitely needed a better team or better producers-Guiding Nothing against Oren, but he was mainly an urban/hip-hop producer. He didn't have the range to guide-direct a whole country record. She needed proper Nashville producers or someone like Mark Ronson for Younger Now This is one of the reasons why i want a new country pop,folk, western,americana record from her.
