Do you even use streaming? Because it being "like radio" is just not my experience. Either way, this thread is about success. Not just pure sales. So to exclude it like you do is, again, disingenuous.

"Madonna only had sales" is an advantage for her, not a disadvantage. The notion that it was easy to sell 20, 25 or 30 million pure copies per album in the 70's, 80's or 90's… Is false! Yes! But that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that it was easier than it is today, which is validated by the fact that it even happened at all. The vast majority of best-selling albums ever in pure sales is from before streaming. Every statistic corroborates the era before streaming = more pure sales, and the era with streaming = less pure sales. Across every country, demographic, genre etc. Streaming is cultural impact too! It's what you spend your time and attention on. Thinking that an album sale is more "impactful" to the consumer than a thousand streams (which is roughly what counts as a sale today) is just an outdated point of view, which the entire industry agrees with now.

I still think Debut 20th Anniversary in November would be a good idea, to end the year on a somehow positive note and also potentielly boost IKIIKY's award chances a bit… TS13 then coming in fall 2027 would be a similar strategy to Red TV -> Midnights

The entire music industry, including IFPI, Billboard, Chartmasters and RIAA, have moved on from counting pure sales only - and for good reason if one's goal is to actually measure the popularity of music. No, equivalent units will never be a perfect way to compare music consumption in different eras. But to exclude them entirely in this type of discussion is at best nostalgic and passé, and at worst dishonest and unfair. You simply can't compare music consumption over time without any consideration for streaming - where Taylor is by far the most succesful woman ever, by the way.

A real pop magician knows that the second verse should always have more things going on than the first (see: Anti-Hero's spooky noises, Cruel Summer's delicious synths and Is It Over Now?'s added percussion). I wasn't so sure until I played the four new songs for my boyfriend (who can have very GP'd taste). He nodded along politely for the other 3 but turned the volume up as soon as P0 started playing. I think it has potential to at least be a medium-sized hit.
