For sure, it feels like she realized "nobody can tell me what to do anymore" & just didn't edit the album

I much prefer the Folklore/Midnights/TTPD approach where she boils everything down to a respectable standard-size tracklist, and then makes a part-reject/part-new secondary project in the same concept. Granted, the "technically-a-deluxe-edition" formats of 3am and The Anthology did more harm than good, since locals can't tell the difference between those and what Lover did

Fall 2026: TS vinyl reprint to go #1 then TSTV

Feb 2027: TS13

Nov 2027: Rep Vault

Feb 2028: Super Bowl and Lead Single TS14

May 2028: TS14 & starts tour for TTPD, TLOAS, TS13, & TS14 (release happens week prior to opening night of tour)

The way I will never get enough of TTPD, both halves - upgraded my headphones and listening to the standard edition (plus imgonnagetyouback) today, and got it's just so excellent at every level all the intricate little elements of songs like GAS?, the vocal production and understated harmonies, this literal goddess of synth pop ugh I'll never hate you Torchipo

I'm pretty sure TS13 will be a double album with Country and Pop Songs. There's a reason why Debut and Reputation are the only albums left to be released. They'll set the tone for TS13.

I think this could be a cute idea. She's already done the double album thing, so there's precedent, but specifically incorporating country and pop would be a really neat way to pay homage to her whole career with such a milestone album. I'm sure she's been thinking about this album since way before she started writing for it, too, and has a lot to say that could make it worth double album length - similar to TTPD, but less reactionary and more reflective (lyrically more like The Manuscript for instance).

Sound wise, that would also position it as a sister to Red, which to this day still feels like the most definitive, classic, "this is who Taylor Swift is" album of her career - maybe a sister to both it and 1989 together since Red wasn't quite halfway mainstream radio pop in my eyes, and since 1989 is kind of off on an island of its own in terms of actual sound while nearly every other album she's done has closer "siblings" so to speak. I think that's appropriate for TS13, too; I can see how she'd want to make something that feels equally true to her core self as an artist.

I'd be really excited for a concept like this.

Never fear, I just did some mudslinging of my own in the wedding thread.

I know this isn't what we're talking about but damn sometimes the first four singles of Lover genuinely sicken me to listen to these days, how did she choose those when literally EVERY other song but London Boy was better sometimes this woman, I swear - and the worst crimes of both Showgirl and this wedding fiasco are that they evoke the exact same feelings as 2019 right down to the public image and legacy discourse, let's hope there's no more secret Lover eras up her sleeve from now on!

She literally made YNTCD and The Man singles because they were PR statements with hooks. She was more concerned with changing public perception of her than she was with making good songs.

Oh how I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in those board rooms when 13 Management and Republic settled on METH! for the lead single.

Whilst my favourite lead from her is probably Anti-Hero or Fortnight I still think Look is by far the gaggiest and most impactful.

Like give me pop music sometimes, sure, but why can't we just have another 1989 instead of… that? Give me AYHTDWS, give me I Wish You Would, give me Clean (dear god Taylor please try to do a full album with Imogen I'm begging), but… please don't give me any more Meth! or Dumbest Daughter. And on the wedding topic, I just decided that I just have to remember it is not mine and everything's fine. It's tacky and tasteless as hell but if she likes it, that's what matters. Now if the dress is also ugly I will lose it though. That's the one thing I want to be everything I dream of.

I've always assumed that Debut was saved for last because of it being full-circle, and the iconicity of having an album called "Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version)" --- and also that Reputation was procrastinated because it was still a new-ish album when the masters were sold & there literally wasn't enough growth with her voice & production for a re-record to hold up

At this point, I expect both of them to just be anniversary projects, thus leaving Reputation for last instead

Once that happens, there's really nothing stopping her. The closest she's come to not caring about it was the folkmore sisters, and they are widely regarded by fans, critics, and the public as the best work of her career. But I have no doubt she'll care less and less about success over time and I also completely understand her wanting to ride the wave of absurd success she's had since late 2021/2022.

I'm actually glad she's not marrying a singer, could you imagine if it leaked they were going to put on a show at their wedding? "Taylor Swift and Husband planning to sing don't go breaking my heart and more on a castle set". It would be endearing and hilarious at the same time. We'd be dragged worse for liking a "tacky" artist. But end of the day it's their wedding, let them plan the day how they want to. She's not shoving it down anyone's throat, so why is everyone crying about it?

But the real question, is the Christmas album before or after rep re-record?
