That means she spent 12 weeks at number 1 during the tracking period and countless weeks in the top 10, at least around 70 so far and counting. This should be entirely wrapped up, right?

She has 1 enormous single and one big single. Taylor had the same in the tracking period plus basically the entire album charting for varying lengths of time. ET charted nearly 30 weeks. Idk, I feel like all those top 10 weeks + all the nonsingles charting plus 2 genuinly enormous chart hits should be more than enough to overcome CT.

Though I don't know if Ella is charting nonsingles from her album regularly. Does anyone have that info?

Some of you don't know Taylor at all, do you? Criticism is always a driving force for her. Just because she won't fold to the crazy reactions to Showgirl doesn't mean she isn't aware of its reception. In fact, Showgirl was a direct result of the TTPD criticisms. It's very obvious she's going in a different direction for TS13

I agree with this.

Taylor stands by her work. But it doesn't mean she isn't thoughtfully considering feedback. She has always stood by her music while also implementing genuine criticism.

I think she's got Choosin Texas, Be Her, and her duet with Morgan Wallen (I can't love you anymore) routinely in T10, not set to leave for the foreseeable few weeks. She's got 3 more songs that have rolled around the 30-70 range. One is set to go recurrent this week, the other two are still in play.

lover to me is a solid enough album that just gets a bit dragged down by how long it is? like, i remember liking it a lot at first cos it was the first one that i knew well but then you compare it to the rest of her catalogue and there's a lot of stuff on there that's not bad but not a good reason for dragging it out that long. i don't mind things like london boy and even ME! but it gets to a point where i just think that there's not really anything i'm looking fwd to, there's no cruel summer or miss americana or i think he knows on the second disc

yeah, i don't expect her to regret making showgurl cos i think it did what she wanted it to do and, to me, she did it well. BUT. it doesn't seem to me that she'll want to carry on like that, she doesn't stand still, there's no real need to do that again and - while i don't think she'll cave to the general anti-taylor air (i can't imagine her really engaging with it that much because it's so demented now) - i wonder if she'll make something with that lighter vibe but in a more obviously singer songwritery context? not as moody as her previous 20s albums but more of a piece with them aesthetically? to maybe go back to country in a neil young sort of way rather than an obviously nashville sort of record, and to get someone else in rather than dessner, who i feel is as played out as max and jack with her at this point

I'm kind of starting to wonder what the timeline is going to look like for the next year and a half. It's abundantly clear that TSTV is probably coming this October, but then what? She's indicated that she's willing to release the Reputation vault tracks, and next year is its tenth anniversary - but it's also two years since Showgirl and we all know she hasn't gone two full years between new studio albums since Reputation itself released. Releasing November 12th would make sense, just a couple days after the anniversary, but if TS13 is a Q4 release to match her old schedule and maximize sales… then that doesn't work. So does she release it on LWYMMD's anniversary? Does she just not really tie it to the ten year milestone at all and put it out sometime in spring or early summer? Surprise release to go with the "there will be no explanation" tagline? And that's not even getting into how she wants to release it - I think a deluxe edition of the original album seems the most likely, given that turning the vaults into an EP feels a little weird, turning it into a whole new album technically makes it TS13 and requires a different approach and promo cycle, and she's been clear that she didn't want to finish Reputation TV. But in the end I guess I have no clue what the approach is going to be.

there's never been a good and widely available vinyl edition of reputation as well. the only mass market version there has ever been is the picture disc(!) so more than most things that album would benefit from a proper reissue campaign, esp if there were to be new bonus tracks and, while its not like swifties need an excuse, there would probably be a bigger market for it than for anything else
