As long as the entire world isn't past Tuesday, 8AM I am not losing hope

Taylor Swift
Yeah I love surprise releases too. I hope we get more in the future. That said, it won't happen as long as she's pushing for first week numbers because she has to have the physicals ready and therefore, we will know about a new album coming from some manufacturer leaking info anyway.

Can we agree that new pop girls have it harder nowadays?
I think they have it easier in terms of breaking through. Where they have it harder is that the death of monoculture don't allow them to really reach a very wide audience the way the previous generations did. Adela for example is successful but she's still niche too. That's what most new girls are. Really breaking into the mainstream has become exponentially difficult. And even if a song does break the mainstream barrier, there's still a long way for people to also become highly interested in the artist behind it.

Speak on it. Tell them. Inform them. I don't think TTPD is ever beating evermore as my favorite (likely nothing she'll release ever will because evermore is too special for me), but it just keep aging like the finest of wine.

Are you not entertained? A "deluxe" by Taylor Swift is coming.
Yeah because nothing says "I'm copying" more than doing it a mere week after like these things don't take time to plan. Please. There's been words about 250k vinyls sitting in Taylor's warehouse for more than a month now. So whether or not this is about Debut 20th anniversary, that has nothing to do with Beyoncé doing her own album anniversary. And it's also not like everybody's been speculating about Debut TV being released on its 20th anniversary ever since the letter she shared after buying her old masters. They just both have an album that was released in 2006.

Yeah, Beyoncé definitely invented the concept of anniversary re-releases.

Again, it's not that I think she can't release great music (obviously, otherwise why would I even bother to be here ), it's just that I don't want it diluted in a mid album. In this situation, even a sister-EP would be preferable. Like in a folklore-evermore kind of way where both albums are complementary but also distinct and have their own identity. And also, I'd rather choke on my words in a few months than letting myself be fooled by my optimism for the same album twice.

I imagine it's (at least partially) directed at me but I definitely do want new music. I just don't want it to be related to Showgirl because I'd much prefer to leave that album in the past and move on to greater things. And yes, I'm gonna hold her to what she said Showgirl was supposed to be because it's the first time she described a new album as something it categorically isn't. TTPD was called a lifeline and music she needed to make -> very apparent in the album. Midnights was described as "an effort for those who toss and turn to keep lanterns lit" -> check. folklore and evermore didn't have much since they were surprised released. Lover was a "love letter to love, in all of its maddening, passionate, exciting, enchanting, horrific, tragic, wonderful glory" -> check. Reputation was described as an hidden love story amidst the chaos -> check. We can go on but you get the idea. There's always things to nitpick in the way she talks about her albums, but the result is never so far off of the original promise. I don't see how that relates to me not even looking forward to TS13 though. Unless you think that one fail in the way she sees and describes her album means she has lost touch with reality, which I don't. Do you?

If Wood or Eldest Daughter made it onto TLOAS, I have a hard time believing there was anything left out worth being reworked in the first place. If we are going for a Showgirl deluxe it better be entirely new material, and it better not be a Showgirl deluxe in the first place.

I mean... unless the songs actually live up to the description she herself gave back in August 2025. Behind the scenes and precision of 1989 with the writing of folklore. If Showgirl part 1 was instead Lover part 2, make Showgirl part 2 be about how her career has affected the fostering of her relationship(s) (which is lowkey Reputation part 2 if you really think about it).

What about evermore (the long pond studio session) (deluxe)?

Honestly, I'd be surprised if it was anything Showgirl related considering she's been dead silent on it in the Grammy interview and instead talked about loving her roots more + her efforts to appeal to country radio. I'd also prefer it if we left Showgirl in the past, personally. If it's Showgirl-related though, the songs better be Ophelia/Ruin The Friendship level because we really don't need another Eldest Daughter or Wood.

And there I was thinking country radio were in their "we love her again" era. These drops are crazy

Most Popular Female Singers: Rise & Fall 2004-2026 (based on Google search)
The way Mariah is making a quick apparence every year in December is cracking me up. Favorite part of the video.

How is Beyoncé's brand "luxury"? Be serious
That "luxury brand" talk is just made-up by the stans to cope with Beyoncé barely ever being seen/promoting and selling overpriced everything.

My dog killed my neighbor's cat
It's the dog owner's fault. The dog went on his neighbor's property. If it happened on the dog owner's property it would be different because that would just be a dog protecting their home, but since the dog went to hunt the cat outside its home then yeah, the owner is definitely at fault. I absolutely love dogs but I despise dog owners who aren't capable of training their dog properly and having the infrastructures necessary to keep them and others safe. Cause it's really not that hard...

Honestly I understand wanting a visual album. That said, if she ever does that, I hope she won't be the one directing the MVs. She's had some successes with MVs since she became a director, like cardigan, ATW10 or most notably Ophelia, but the vast majority is really just mid (Anti-Hero, Karma, I Can See You, Lavender Haze, Bejeweled...), and some are really terrible (Opalite, The Man). We just need someone else in the room and then I'm 100% supportive of a visual album (even though it doesn't really feel like she'd really be interested in that tbh? idk she doesn't give off the vibe that the visual aspect is something she's super interested in). Otherwise, she can lowkey keep it and focus on making a couple great ones.

She simply couldn't be more obvious that whatever's next will be country

Why do people eat plain potatoes chips?
This is the first time I hear people talk about putting potato chips in sandwiches, let alone that it seems to be very common. Like my first reaction is "do you hate yourselves", but I'm gonna try because yall are making me curious.

Honestly, it would just keep making things worse. Atp, the only course of action for her would be to disappear for a couple of years so that people can calm down and move on. But I don't want that so bring on the music Taylor. I've been a firm defender of a return back to country music, but you do have a point. Nothing would be quite as exquisite as a SOG/HG soundscape. Throw in some Haunted/WCS and we're good to go.

This is lowkey true even if it doesn't feel like it because of @Taylor fanboy's reputation payola.

Eli crashes out on X; calls Taylor a predator and claims she made sombr unfollow her
It is genuinely sad to see her spiral like that because people won't leave her alone. But at the same time, it's a situation she put herself into by crashing out about Taylor, basically asking her to do something for her all while insulting her and then getting mad that she got ignored.

What would you do if you won $1 million?
I'd buy a home to live in and 2/3 apartments to rent and then live off of the rents.

Harry's KISSCO has sold 1 million in the US
Harry's House took 5 weeks to cross the 1M mark, was #3 on BB200 and he was not touring. Disco took 26 weeks to reach that, is currently #123 on BB200 and Harry is currently on tour (on a record breaking MSG residency no less). Yes, for his standard, it's at the very least a massive underperformance.

More impressive this decade? The One That Got Away (#3) vs Abracadabra (#2) Spotify
TOTGA is much bigger than Abracadabra (which was pretty frontloaded and is now kinda forgotten), no question about it. That said, it'll always be more impressive to be able to keep extending your legacy than merely relying on nostalgia. Abracadabra is gonna do so much more for Gaga's future than TOTGA ever will for Katy.
