  1. Great numbers . Really fascinating career. Outside Taylor and Beyonce pretty clearly the most consistent MPG of the 21st century.
  2. I think she has more Abra-sized solo hits in her for sure. With the right song she could even have her Hung Up moment. Gaga has a lot of good will and is a living legend. I also feel certain a Weeknd collab or even BB will happen eventually. Never count Gaga out.
  3. "Extremely popular song among young people has no cultural impact. Why?"
  4. It actually makes me sad that people have to remove beloved music from apps like Tik Tok to satiate online lunatics who also won't care that she did this. Is there a single person in the world who didn't previously support Trump that now does because he used august or Applause in a video? They literally literally only do this because they want a reaction from celebrities to contribute to their outsider narrative. It's also just such a perfect encapsulation of where people's priorities are. More worried about proving over and over again that the same celebrities aren't MAGA (and it will never be enough) than actual politicians. It's like a Black Mirror episode and lowkey part of what the Trump admin wants out of this.
  5. I think the hypocrisy callout is aimed at the fans not Gaga herself, but I agree that gets messy/convoluted in all stan war nonsense.
  6. I don't think it says anything about Gaga if she doesn't say anything about this. I think the point of this thread (and how I personally feel about it) is that people need to drop this ridiculous tendency to accuse people we know are not MAGA of being MAGA. Not only is it 90% annoying stan war nonsense, it's also counterproductive to baselessly sling mud at people who we know where they stand. I know you don't, girl. Many do, though and not just Swifties and Monsters
  7. The fumes and hypocrisy in here . People love to dish it out but can't take it. They hate when the same irrational logic is turned on them. "Gaga has spoken out against Trump many times!" So has Taylor and that didn't stop y'all from trying to get your licks in when he used her music to try and provoke a reaction. "This isn't an official audio!" as if that would stop many users from demanding Taylor make a statement if she couldn't remove it. @PenguinTim isn't an OGH, the point of this thread is to just point out how dumb this whole thing is. And if you remove the mask it's all about stan wars and people only apply logic based on who they already love/hate.
  8. Regardless of whether these leaks are real, it's almost certainly coming soon. IKI,IKY really rebuilt her relationship with country radio and I sincerely doubt she's going to ignore her biggest global stardom ever and release a country studio album for TS13. It also just makes sense to release a 20th anniversary debut, get the album to number 1 โ€” snaring some new records in the process โ€” and get the album to diamond. That will be easy. If she's really doing ~40 tracks, all these units should count double for certs. No way she's doing less than 500k pure (1 million pure is certainly possible and I'd even venture to say likely) which would immediately make debut cross 9X platinum, closing in on 10 million. Should be diamond eligible by the end of the year or early 2027 at the latest. Now we just need I'd Lie TV to debut at number 1 and the Hot 100 record will be within our clutches very soon. If it succeeds and a rep vault track does as well next year, she'll literally be right there. TS13 getting 2 like Showgirl would be enough to tie Mariah under those circumstances. Maybe it'll finally compel her to do prerelease singles. She could easily score 3 number 1s from the next studio release that way. Just mimic the Lover rollout.
  9. Kinda crazy that other outlets haven't called this. Polling is so broken . Glad El-Sayed won, I hope he can win in November. Progressives have the chance to prove what they've always claimed about general election electability in swing states. It's gonna be a tough road to unite the Dem coalition again before November. Even if he pulls that off, he'll have to win many moderates/independents to bring it home. Probably the best circumstances possible with the popularity of the current government and an impending blue wave.
  10. Again, not a single review eligible for Metacritic is even characterized as negative. Panned on Twitter, maybe. Critically panned, no. Even if you raised the panned threshold to below 60 AND removed Rolling Stone, Showgirl STILL wouldn't quality. "Context of world domination" is irrelevant. And she had a hate train during the Showgirl release. People called her a eugenicist for saying she wanted kids who looked like her husband, racist for "onyx night," and a Nazi for putting lightning bolts on a necklace. Online sentiment had already turned against her with TTPD. Anyway, none of that matters. It's still not a panned album critically, no matter how badly you want it to be! Words mean things!
  11. AOTY takes user scores. Stans submit reviews. It's silly to put albums that score in the 60s on Metacritic as "panned," especially now that popism has cooled off. TLOAS has a 69. No matter how badly you want it to be true, you aren't going to find any source that characterizes its critical response as panned. Wikipedia deems it "mixed to positive." Throw out the Rolling Stone score y'all love to drag so much and the album is still in the mid-60s. Not a single review eligible for Metacritic is characterized as negative. If you want to just cobble together a list of albums you don't like for a poll, a word like "controversial" is more fitting because the meaning is much broader.
  12. I will still be shocked if he doesn't win. I disagree with y'all on a lot but I like him and strongly dislike her. I think most polling indicates that it could be a bad result for Dems in the general if he wins, but I think that race will be difficult either way. I genuinely do not think further left candidates, especially in purple states, will help Dems win general elections, but I'm open to being proven wrong. I've been somewhat hoping to see how that pans out. Maybe the polling is wrong. Currently seems to be pretty wrong about this race, even if he still takes it. It just sucks that the stakes feel so incredibly high in November, not really sure how to feel watching these returns.
  13. The comparison works on the terms it was made. Birds obviously benefited greatly from Spotify's algorithm and autoplay. Denying that when it is, even now, out charting on USA Spotify by more than 120 positions, along with the entire history of its Spotify performance, is ludicrous. Everyone knows what "Billie's autoplay" means, girl.
  14. This is so easy omg. Fearless is the best as a rerecorded album. Major improvements across the board. Never listen to the og unless I'm feeling nostalgic. Red was the best era by far. Probably my favorite time to be a Swiftie ever aside from the Eras Era. So much fun. Such good promo. 2 videos. Something was in the air that fall. The vault tracks are also the best. It's the definitive Taylor album and I'd still say it's better than og Red minus the pop singles. ATW10 is one of the best moments of her entire career. Speak Now is good! Some tracks are improved, some tracks I prefer the ogs. Nothing glaring. Cute vault but not as good as Red or Fearless. Very middle of the road. ICSY is that girl, though. 1989...I genuinely use the entire vault sans SL. "****!" NTWDT and IION? are all great songs. The rerecorded tracks are pretty much all worse, though. Idgaf about rep TV, but I want the vault tracks on a deluxe 10th anniversary. I would genuinely love to hear her mature voice/better vocals on debut.
  15. You imply that Birds' autoplay is somehow better or more legitimate than IKI,IKY's when every single point discussed shows gulfs in Birds' performance between platforms. Year-end placements globally and in the USA, total streams, and current charting where it is currently more than 120 positions behind on Apple. Birds is a much bigger hit than IKI,IKY hence better peaks and performance across the board, but it blatantly benefited and blatantly continues to benefit from a more favorable autoplay push on Spotify than any other platform.
  16. @iHype. listen, girl. We have gone left, right, and sideways on this. We've compared global numbers, US numbers, and total streams. The thread is too long and convoluted. As @Flames2Embers the simple truth and only point that matters is that it is incredibly common for songs to fare differently on different platforms. The listener base is different, the algorithms are different. Your implication is that Taylor or Republic decided to cut a check to Amazon (which is also not something that happens) and no one else for some reason and that's just delusional conspiracy slop. Country music does very well on Amazon Music which is a quarter of the US music market. Pop does best on Spotify and urban/rap does best on Apple. Birds and endless other songs exemplify these differences. It's silly to try and compare Birds and IKI,IKY in any other way than showing how algorithms are different on different platforms which they both clearly show. Birds' performance differences ARE significant as shown in the song's massive total streams performance, it is just a much bigger hit so it is charting much higher on both platforms. This also isn't some great revelation. ATRL basically understands this about Spotify and Apple. ATRL just doesn't discuss Amazon much because of what music that platform tends to favor.
  17. So first the all time numbers don't matter because they're a year old but when you see there's still a huge gulf we have to switch tactics. You're also not comparing the right numbers, genius! We are discussing USA charts, not global numbers. BOAF was not in the top 10 tracks of 2024 or 2025 on Apple Music USA. In 2024, it was 17 on USA Apple Music's year-end while placing at 8 on Spotify. In 2025, it was 15 on USA Apple Music and 4 on Spotify's year-end. BOAF is obviously a much, much bigger hit that IKI,IKY. It is obviously going to have higher peaks and higher sustained chart positions on all streaming platforms. But there is still an obvious major difference between its performance on Apple and Spotify USA and a sustained major difference in its global performance. Amazon Music doesn't publish a top performing songs list but clearly favors country music. BOAF is likely even lower there than Apple and Amazon controls nearly 25% of USA music marketshare. My big point still stands! Different streaming platforms favorite different artists/genres and their algorithms are calibrated to their audience preferences accordingly!
  18. Logic is clearly not your strongest trait. You're comparing one of the biggest singles of the decade to a strong genre hit. In raw numbers and in platform specific performance, Billy's performance on Spotify vastly outstripped her performance on Apple Music. This is before the Apple Music list was published. Billie was 247 on Apple and already in the top 50 on Spotify. And she isn't closing the gap. Charting far ahead on Spotify even now. Idk why this is so hard for you to grasp . The autoplay is currently plainly visible! Here are the nearly exact historical comparisons as well. 200 spots ahead on Spotify and, as you pointed out, those spots are more difficult to jump as you climb higher.
  19. BOAF is a much bigger hit than country soundtrack end credits single IKI,IKY . God, the standards for Taylorโ€ฆ The principle is what matters. As now, Billie vastly outperformed other platforms on Spotify. Birds is the 14th best performing song on Spotify of all time. It is 267 on Apple Music . Again, Amazon heavily favors country music. Similar to how Apple favors rap/urban music. No one is claiming that IKI,IKY is performing close to BOAF which is one of the biggest hits of the century. But it's autoplay and single platform over performance is also blatantly obvious. This phenomenon exists on every platform. Amazon favors country and Taylor does well on Amazon. Spotify favors pop and Billie is unusually favored there. Listening preferences obviously inform the algorithm. On every single platform, many listeners listen to autoplayed music and platform generated playlists. But those playlists and those algorithms are informed by listener preference on those platforms. The songs obviously benefit from autoplay, but they are picked up by autoplay because they were already performing well on the platform. Someone isn't just waving a magic wand. Why would Billie cut a deal with Spotify and not Apple? Taylor with Amazon and not Spotify? Different listener bases prefer different music and their respective algorithms adjust autoplay accordingly. I know you're just an OTH and it hurts to see Taylor have an 8 week top 3 and streaming songs top 10 with a soundtrack single when 99% of A-listers flop into oblivion with them. Let it out, girl.
  20. There is a greater than 120 position gulf between BOAF's performance on Spotify and Apple. It may be far more than that, we don't know. The timeline of its release is irrelevant. The autoplay was obvious then and it's obvious now. Suffer and seethe! You can't selectively decide when autoplay is and isn't okay and what platform can use it based on who you obsessively hate. Country music always tends to perform much better on Amazon. IKI,IKY's performance is in-line with that established truth.
  21. BOAF is 80 on US Spotify and out of the top 200 on US Apple Music. Taylor is in the 60s on Spotify and Apple and top 10 on Amazon. It is interesting to see ATRL user @iHype. try to call Swifties out for hypocrisy while providing a statistically more egregious example of autoplay on a different platform. Whatever fits the narrative, right? Again, each platform has artist/genre preferences and different demographics. Those preferences likely inform autoplay. Despite its obvious success, Birds has always had an enormous gulf between its performance on Spotify and other platforms. Autoplay is just as prominent on Spotify as it is on Amazon if not moreso. Look at the major recalibration they've done since 2024.
  22. Just like Spotify and Apple Music, Amazon Music has its own audience and own popular genres/trends. Country music does very well on Amazon. There's no way to know how the algorithms of these platforms affect specific songs. Many songs have highly incongruent performance across platforms. That's not unusual whatsoever. Maybe it's autoplay, maybe it's audience preferences, likely it is a combination of both with preferences informing the algorithm's autoplay.
