Not to be conspiratorial, which I am STAUNCHLY against in general, but I do think the internet creates insane incentive structures. Things like monetizing social media have done incalculable damage to everything.

These outlets are desperate to get clicks. The chronically online hate machine hates Taylor right now. They can also be relied upon for engagement. Look at Pitchfork.

I won't go so far as to say that the negative reviews just exist because of this, but it's getting harder and harder to untangle social media and chasing virality from everything else.

People online always say "coordinated hate train " for their faves like they did with ariana and Chappell even though it was literally just a small amount of deserved criticism but you say it about taylor and its "cope! Lies!1".

There is 100% something fueling this. Theres no way artists like bey can go to bezos parties and take pictures on her private jet yet theres crickets on it or my fave doing big pharma commercials (not dogging on her just the biggest example of many) yet Taylor gets brought up constanly for all this as if shes the worst of the worst. Theres no way she came out unscathed after the fight with scooter scott and the whole masters ordeal. People see her now as the main person to blame for apparently everything but no way bots aren't involved

Speaking of leaks, it's interesting how many releases there were last week compared to this week. A lot of people pointed that out when rumors of a deluxe first popped up and it made me wonder how so many labels were aware of when The Encore was coming. The industry always seems to know

Pink Clouding and Slvt are the best duo of songs I have ever heard.

The lush melodies and her expressive yet airy delivery sound divine. Really like on cloud.

I still think that publications hold her to a significantly higher standard than they do other pop artists, too. These new songs would be an easy 70+ from most artists but because they want Taylor to constantly clear an entirely different bar and because it's, and forgive me for this, "punk on the internet" () to hate her in this hyperbolic way that insinuates the music is as bad as the bottom of the pop barrel produced by alleged rapists, it will land around 40 or something - and that's if more favorable publications bother to review a deluxe edition, which is still not standard practice at all anyway. Just all very silly when you listen to the music and see that it's not remotely similar. Babylon alone with three tracks of nothing but wet fart sounds would clear any typical album in the 60s and below.

It's a known fact the Halftime negotiations went sour last year, right before Showgirl dropped, so they had to run to Bad Bunny to cover up (changing stadium dates that he had already booked for those same dates) at the last minute.

The hate for her died down during the pandemic but my goodness it's like living through a small piece of 2016 all over again. This time it's just because of some lyrics...

Not sure who is behind it now but around 2016-2019 I know for a fact she was targeted for not making her political standing known. She eventually gave in and it died down. She is also massively disliked by the people over on celebitchy.

If anything good comes of the reception to this deluxe, it'll be that she hopefully goes back to working with people like Bon Iver and The National and expanding that side of her musical circle and discography - and if she dares to finally convince Sufjan to do some some sessions
