  1. have to say my instant reaction to this idea was that more or less every pop star has a song on their album these days where the internet goes "is this about taylor?!" and i'm not buying it any more than with the last half dozen lol
  2. i understand people feeling like its frustrating, unfinished and all that (i'm sure i'd prefer an easier going record) but i guess that the point of it is that if she'd wanted to release a more polished record then that's what she'd have done it doesn't mean that everyone will like it or be bothered enough to go along with it but it's that way for a reason and i guess the challenge is to get what you can from that approach? the deliberate irritations are a prod at the listener and there are times where it's just a bit tiresome but i can enjoy the playfulness of it as well
  3. i think that when he used his magic wand, i felt that on a deep level
  4. top 5 most emotional songs ariana grande - get well soon whitney houston - i have nothing lorde - clearblue britney spears - everytime taylor swift - wood
  5. i remember checking this out a while ago to see how normal it was and it's reached the stage where the arts section has gone full anti-woke as well, neil mccormick still slagging off girls aloud for being "processed" and going on about how he met bono once (a surprising beyoncé stan tho)
  6. you should ask about it in HQ, they love it when people do that
  7. i mean, that's what you write when you work for the telegraph, no surprises there but they're the opinions her employer pays her to have
  8. i feel like ATRL more than makes up for any supportive culture that might exist elsewhere? if you feel too happy about yrself you can always find someone here to slag you off and i think that's beautiful
  9. every star falls off in the end, she's still a legend tho, not everyone has that
  10. i feel like i'm going to nearly but not quite get it in the next few days, then get bored for a bit and then come back to this in a couple of months and enjoy it more? (this is more plausible than it sounds)
  11. no, barely scraped the top 30, he has a few hits i can remember (that + TRTH, on the beach, driving home for christmas and some others) but not many of them were that big

  13. #1 here and in 5 other countries so far, could have flopped a lot harder
  14. most weeks at #1 since early ATRL fave frankie laine in 1953 literally no proper new entries https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-chart/20260724/7501/ https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/albums-chart/20260724/7502/
  15. it's saying harry styles - kiss all the time claire rosinkranz - my lover laura nyro - american dreamer (live) gracie abrams - daughter from hell calvin harris - ready for the weekend but honestly that's kinda bullshit, it double counts some stuff and misses other things out completely, i've listened to gracie about 3 or 4 times this week and there's no way that should be there, plus there are ariana and britney albums i've played to death which are nowhere so a more accurate count is artists, which has taylor ariana britney calvin harris laura nyro (harry is 6 and claire is 8, gracie a way off) where i know i've actually listened to all those songs
  16. no surprises really but it's great
  17. I just looked in to ask for a banner for Charli's flop album but this is great, carry on
  18. wow the backlash! that's quite funny
  19. some of them are definitely catchier than others, 2007 is very instant, card declined and i'm afraid sound like they need playing a few times (have felt this a lot with camera and rock music but am getting along with them now). i will take a bold punt: ATRL is not going to like this album
  20. just time to listen b4 bed and honestly rock music is starting to sound good now? haven't actually heard anything idk yet tho
  21. opalite is as good a single as she's released this decade, a potential alltimer and transatlantic #1, will be fondly remembered when the smoke clears from this album (am old enough to remember when TTPD was seen as an abomination)
  22. honestly i don't think so as long as its well received by critics and i expect it to be cos it's their sort of thing, stans on music twitter going into meltdown when it drops out of the chart after three weeks are priced in at this point
