it's probably just what they wanted to rate the original album and they're projecting it onto the deluxe tracks

she might retire the 2 olivia d songs from the chart.

which ironically could clear up some spots for other olivia to return to the top 10 next month.

It's probably that they found out lower scores bring more clicks because most fans don't read reviews, they listen to the music.

Whereas haters read every review and repost them ad-nauseum.

yes but that doesn't go without saying a lot of the harsh critic reviews are completely valid. just not the ones throwing insults and one liners that relate to her personal life

Since the start of this campaign she has been called MAGA, racist, accused of simultaneously pushing nazi dogwhistles and being an Israel supporter, sabotaging other female artists, never growing up, etc. in multiple hit pieces and viral social media posts that would make any other act tremble and the songs off the album still spent a combined 60 weeks in the Top 10 with the biggest global smash of her career to date.

A random Toy Story song is spending longer in the Top 10 than 99% of ATRL's faves output this decade, and the re-release of that same album we were all assured nobody liked is the most talked musical release of the year.

They are mad because she finally realized they don't have the power over her that they have over other artists, and will try to get it back. And i doubt she'll ever give in to it!

Anything can go viral in this tiktok age and that viral song helps the album stick around.

It's not really a mystery why publications are reviewing this deluxe. It's because her name draws in views and interaction. She's the biggest name in the entertainment industry. Though it's true people are more likely to click on negative reviews and there is probably some of that fueling some of these reviews, I think chalking it up to that entirely is a little disingenuous.

since when does ATRL pin a score for an album? and publish a thread with major, dangerous claims against an artist? it has lingered in my mind since the backlash began the moment the album dropped; it felt like there was no time to even listen????? and when i saw the pinned threads this morning, i was 99% sure none of it was genuine. the issue seems personal rather than music

the backlash felt planned to knock her down simply because she reached a heights no one expected she to reach

I think the last time I read a review was in 2020, maybe I read some Midnights ones but I don't remember. It just felt pointless tbh. There's only so much you can get out of an album after 1 or 2 listens. The discussions we have in here are more much interesting to me and have actually offered me some different perspectives on certain songs.
