Aside from the fact that she was literally asked last minute to be on Prada in the middle of her touring/promoting the Mayhem era, there's no point to put much effort for soundtrack songs destined to not musical movies that rarely become hits anyway, all the three songs used were very different and valid for that kind of project.

LBR, it's not impossible to get a hit out of a soundtrack song if it's good and connects with people. Gaga's done it a few times now. The songs just weren't promoted enough / weren't what people wanted to listen to. Nothing to do with "people rarely get hits with soundtracks"

Smash of a Woman would've had a fighting chance if it was the single instead of Runway. Although I understand why they went with Runway & the MV turned out to be an epic serve, it's just jarring. Also think that Shape had HUGE potential for US Pop/HAC/AC radio

The lackful chorus would always hold SOAW back, and limit what it can achieve. I don't understand why didn't she just do something better there.

Regarding DWP's songs, I think she wanted to go with the flow for its reception. If it clicked, she'll stand by it and promote it further. If not, then she'll move on, which is basically what's happening right now. She and her team probably learned from TDD's performance, which she promoted and pushed so hard, especially on TikTok + TMBT, to make it happen, and it did not.

I love Runway and it's one of my fav songs of the year
