Joanne is a mess but it's a Gaga mess. Chromatica is just… there. There's barely any of her artistry in the music and that's why it's her worst in my opinion. You can tell Gaga put work into Joanne. Its very hit or miss, but I'd take an album she helped co produce and played music on than a sanitized album like Chromatica.

I've noticed this too. Some fans will claim their fav didn't succeed because of a hearcut but Gaga gets hit after hit with completely different aesthetics

There's a very specific "maximalist but well produced" factor in pop from that time, it seems we've lost the fun "candy bits" (as Gaga called it) in radio pop 2012- onward.

Not this tired set up. At this point we need to just ban DWAS threads. Gaga and Bruno both wrote, produced, played instruments, and sung on the track. Bruno and his team made most of the song, Gaga / Joker was the reason it even got pulled out the scraps drawer. The song wouldn't have been released without either.
