cloudbusting

Tinashe upliftings continue with another all-kill and her 12th #1 song!

giving them some grace this week because i'm sure lining things up takes time and clearly the critical/public response was a surprise, but at the same time like... we need some help with the uplifting!

okay we've had enough organic growth, it's time to start cutting some checks and really pump things up

nothing was surviving Hurricane Adele that year, but TEOG might've at least given her another R/SOTY nomination (and maybe a stronger overdue narrative down the line resulting in Abra ROTY as it deserved)

since there are dnb flourishes on a couple of Popstar tracks, I'm gonna need Tightrope to make a return to the setlist

can't wait to stream this and her world cup collab with the weeknd on repeat

i was lowkey hoping the setlist would be a flop because i'll have to miss my date (flights got prohibitively expensive before i remembered to book mine ), but on the other hand i'm still happy for everyone who gets to be slayed by this! plus she's still getting my coins so at least there's that

if she isn't howling and growling with Brittany on Act III, I'm egging that uglyass airport she calls a house

yeah like I get people wanting her to book those major stages she absolutely deserves, but a sold out tour is way better press (and negotiating leverage for the next round!) than overextending too fast and too soon. we have great WOM and an incredible debut plus it's holding stronger than I would ever have dreamed, but now she and her team have to balance being bold and wise to make the most of it.

Cheetah rollout has been sloppier than Wonho's ass at a bathhouse, but I think it might actually be their best mini so far Free kinda needed to be a full RV song though; Irene even sounds like Yeri when she does that "you can't hold me down" in the chorus

twice as long as Christina has charted any album since Obama's second term

okay I'm super late, but apparently varied from city to city! 2/3 of my choices were instantly gone, and the 3rd was expensive ($80 for rear GA @ Red Rocks). gonna just take my chances with the general sale lmao just kinda crazy because it's not like Carly's latest album has been her own Popstar — that's what makes me nervous for when T inevitably announces the tour

Carly Rae Jepsen presale kicking my ass this morning omg… yeah it's over for me when the Cloud 9 lady announces huh

@bjorkismymom hasn't set up the streaming farm yet

everyone deservedly praising assorted LAMB/TSE cuts, but let me give a shoutout to Make Me Like You breezy, catchy, wistful… deserved to smash! should've gotten a real video though smh

when my remote-controlled plug gets turned on full blast in the middle of the supermarket

she kind of earned an engineering degree with all the bridges on B'Day tbh

Caroline and Weyes Blood have been teasing in their IG stories this year, so i'm taking it as confirmation new albums are actually on the way. surprised to see Anohni and Vashti Bunyan but would love new music from both!

this diamond-certified #1 SMASHA on the cloudbustingboard hot 100 deserved the world

Fetch the Bolt Cutters and MOTOMAMI not getting into A/R/SOTY in their respective years is still bewildering to me. The most acclaimed albums of their years and clearly caught enough notice to get nominated (and win!) their genre categories it'll be especially wild if Rosalia gets snubbed again while taking AOTY at the Latin Grammys a third album in a row

Jackie (2015) - #17 with 25k, 60 on metacritic Beauty Marks (2019) - #87, 57 on metacritic CiCi (2025) - N/A on any chart globally and didn't even hit the 4 review minimum for a MC score Tinashe is the least of your worries

TINASHE!!! outdoing predictions iktr

Lover has False God, so even the atrocious cuts and LOONA plagiarism can be overlooked Showgirl has… no saving grace

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RedOne_production_discography https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_works_by_Stuart_Price i mean there's a clear difference in how they spent their time after COADF/imperial-phase Gaga, and ReDone hasn't really done anything listenable memorable in the interim the way Stuart did

love Ciara, but bringing up her singular Grammy to drag Tinashe is sending me because Ci only got that from riding Missy Elliott's coattails as a feature
