Finished the album & this is easily her best since thank u, next. ES had some highs for me but overall I only really revisited we can't be friends & bye. This on the other hand… entirely new sound for Ariana, also showing how influential Mk.gee has become to mainstream pop in such a short amount of time (see also: Justin's SWAG). Excellent production choices, love the groove & sonic vibe she's created here. I've been a fan of her since Victorious. She looks ghoulish. Even at her most petite (2012-15, 2021-22), she never looked this emaciated. Lowkey is becoming body horror atp. Dont care if I get dragged. As someone who suffered from eating disorders in BOTH directions (becoming fat overeating / not eating healthy & subsequently starving / depriving myself to lose that weight), I can tell you first hand it f*cking sucks & the last thing you want to hear are the opinions of other people when all you want to do is be happy in your skin. I've gotten to a point where I have a healthy relationship with food & can eat whatever I want without being scared I'm going to gain the weight back bc I've since incorporated an adequate activity level / fitness routine to create a healthy balance. My aunt is the same height as her & she went thru a phase of starving herself in college. She said she got to 95 pounds at her lowest & she was NEVER as skinny as Ariana appears now. I'm sure that number is horrifying. It takes YEARS of hard work to overcome EDs but you have to at least acknowledge it's a problem first. I speak about this so pragmatically bc I experienced it first hand. Meanwhile you have legions of fans defending this deeply unhealthy behavior & attacking others who call it out. It's crazy, I just hope she truly gets healthy (physically & mentally) before ending up like Karen Carpenter.
