I was able to give the EP a full listen today and I really like it! The songs are all solid but I think my favorite is "The Winner/El Vencedor."

"Glowing" music video is out now!

 

The last one swallowed all the video budget for the EP I wanted to do something really minimalist that played with colours, the editing was inspired by hip hop videos since the song uses breakbeat samples, and I did some unhinged Future Islands/David Byrne esque dancing. Because it's a love song, and what else does love do than make you want to dance like nobody's watching?

[The Next Day]

I really like this You really have some serious charisma as a performer. Even if the setting is more simple than in the previous videos, I still enjoy just watching you do your thing I especially love the whole sequence in the second chorus, it flows so well with the song (the dramatic turn with your hand on your heart at 1:45 and the little "head wiggle" at 1:50 gagged me a bit, great editing)

 

I always wonder tho how it feels like to have to switch in and out of "performer mode", I mean you can see moments like with you at the end of the video when watching lots of other artists, where you can sometimes see how their whole body language changes when they switch performer mode on/off. And also how do you not get overwhelmed during filming? Cause of course it looks natural to the audience, but if I had a camera pointing only at me to film me make entertaining moves, I would probably freeze and don't know where to start I really admire how you and other artists make that part of the job look easy

Since ATRL shoves him at everyone's faces all the time: I really don't like the music. The voice is flat and the songs are boring. The production sounds cheap. Sorry to break it to you, but this ain't gonna happen on a big scale. Wishing you all the best though

? Had it not been for ATRL embedding the EP on the website page, I wouldn't have noticed he had an EP out (which I am enjoying). It's okay if you don't like the music, but you can just ignore it. Kinda mean of you to have a go at someone because you're irritated the site's moderators are nice enough to promote a small artist's music.

lol but it's totally cool, I'm just a new artist trying a creative way of reaching ppl who I think may enjoy my music. I decided to give it a try to make a thread here bc my label wasn't sure where I fit in terms of audience, if it was more alternative or more pop, and I told them "let's just try something organic via social media, forums, etc. first for the EP before we start spending a ton of $ into playlisting and such, figure out who actually likes this music, and then go from there". So I'm in that stage now. It's awesome to see ppl discussing the music at all in the first place even if some don't like it, art is art at the end of the day, not everyone will love what you do!

Good response. Releasing music and putting yourself out there is a very brave and vulnerable thing to do. You are right, not everyone on your way is going to be a fan of your music and some of them won't hold back with their opinions. It will be even worse the further you go, you probably know that. It's a brutal business but that's the burden every artist has to carry. Just keep doing what you love and everything will align in time
