  1. Honestly, I'm not even saying this as a Madonna stan….I just think she's an anomaly in music world and part of her lore is her longevity and ability to stay in the mainstream zeitgeist in the first place. Like, Madonna was pop culture, and pop culture was Madonna for a very long time. So even as bumpy as her music career had been for years up until Confessions II, there was a curiosity factor from her obsessive fans and haters alike to see what she was doing. And if there was ever going to be someone to pull off basically the impossible…which, fellow Madonna fans, don't come for me for saying this…but which was putting out an incredible album again, it was going to be Madonna. I think there's a bit of fascination that continues to follow her as she walks truly unchartered territory in pop music, and there really is no one else in music that has that unique story apart from her. It's not that Janet couldn't put out a great album again, but the reality is, she just doesn't capture public interest the same way. I'd love to see it happen; I love her too. But I really don't see it happening.
  2. Came to basically say this — Any album that has Madonna's name attached to it.
  3. Danceteria deserved to be a multi week #1 in an alternative universe.
  4. On what? Certainly you're not talking about metacritic, right?
  5. You know what's crazy? I remember when Madonna was loled at during the FIRST Confessions era (yes, I'm old) for ticket prices that were 350 DOLLARS TO SIT ON THE FLOOR and seen as a capitalistic menace for that. It's absolutely WILD to me what antics the pop girls pull nowadays compared to her. At least Madonna's empty box would be creative and be a double entendre
  6. Well...it's certainly not round and revolving around Taylor anymore, if that's what you're implying....
  7. Is the Confessions II original film eligible for the Oscars cuz if so, one of those songs will probably sweep for Best Original Song I think idk
  8. This is one of the funniest threads on this stupid website in a WHILE I am HOWLING at some of these responses
  9. Thanks for the rec, sis! Is there a version with a good song on it? I'll need to buy a box from Beyonce to put them in!
  10. I haven't heard anything about TLOAS outside of the day ATRL collectively collapsed kikiing over the lyrics on release day and then discussed it flopping on the UK charts…so I'll say that one
  11. Plus Confessions II got a better metacritic rating than TLOAS and is more likely to win Grammys, so I guess she hasn't even toppled the 40+ year in the industry veteran yet Maybe she can extend her chart run with a Taylor's version of TTPD or TLOAS girl soon idk
  12. Now that her album has disappeared from the UK album charts and she has NO albums currently charting there, is Taylor officially irrelevant globally? Has she become a legacy act? Is her TDNA or Madame T upon us? Please discuss, I'm concerned
  13. Confessions II is gonna sweep the whole main field, please, let's be serious.
  14. Why in the world did they exclude Danceteria
  15. Ah yes, how childish to stan….wait a second, checks notes….Madonna?
