Great marketing and a distinctive voice

Yeah sounds like that group of people wasn't for you. There's plenty of quieter gay men who aren't always talking about sex, so I wouldn't write off an entire group based off one experience. Tbh I find friendship groups in general to not be the best social settings, regardless of sexuality. Usually there's lots of sub groups within it and lots of internal conflict which ends up creating quite a toxic environment. I much prefer one on one friendships, though they take a lot more effort, it feels more worth it.

I doubt at this point Taylor will ever have a dramatic fall off. I think as she gets older her numbers will gradually start to decrease but she'll always have decent album sales. And no matter how cringe Taylor can be, she will never be as embarrassing as Katheryn Hudson. I don't think many people are capable of sinking that low

It's two things really, their lack of a strong identity and poor management. They're essentially a tribute act to 90s American girl groups. It was cute at first but they've not really evolved since Cardboard Box. Access All Areas was a really promising debut but this latest album feels like a a lesser version of that. I think the pop pivot with Leak It was a good move and it was the first song of theirs that really sounded like a "hit". Remedied too. But the album didn't sound anything like those tracks, so I imagine any casual listener would've been confused if they checked out the full album based on one of those songs. They also waste their momentum at every opportunity. Fly Girl was their highest charting single in the UK and then they just vanished for a year. Leak It also felt like a decent moment for them and then they waited months to announce the album. It's like there's zero plan or real rollout for any of their music, and they're just making it up as they go along.

It's not really the same thing though. Gaga's aesthetics and visuals made people uncomfortable, but the music was good. I remember at the time thinking she was really weird but Just Dance and Poker Face were bops. Katseye's music is just bad. They're not pushing the boat out artistically, they're making bottom of the barrel tiktok slop. Also a number of their songs are just old demos from other people, so there's literally no artistry there at all.

I remember being really curious to see what she came back with and then hearing LWYMMD and thinking...is that it Great video though

Ariana's vocals are great live but she's a pretty boring performer overall. I wish she embraced that whole aesthetic she had going on during that Save Your Tears live performance, because she gave a lot of personality and presence without really having to do a whole lot besides sing
