I don't disagree with any of that but I mean, those foreign users I am referring to do hyperfocus on all aspects of US politics not just federally but stateside & municipal as well like you are pointing out about someone else. It certainly gets to a point. I can understand interest in our politics even if I find them dreadfully boring (I enjoy keeping up with foreign politics too) but it's when the lines get blurred and people start acting like experts, and their position is misunderstood as a citizen vs curious watcher. We can't act like they don't try to influence things either. So we see how this applies to those on here that are not American and, hold contempt for American politicians that move further to the center; those that are not far enough left on the spectrum. Just substitute "left" with "liberal" or any other ideology and you have a perfect mirror. It's all the same at the end of the day. I appreciate that we can find commonality across borders with one another through shared political leanings but of course, we all should know our place and not be too much of an armchair analyst, nor should we speak over the voices of those that live, work & vote in a particular country. We agree.

Since you brought this up, don't forget that this also applies to many of the ostensible leftists on this forum. I can point out a few in this very thread and the US politics thread that aren't living anywhere near North America but astroturf as if they are in the center of our politics. I hope you would also apply the logic that they would be better suited focusing on the problems in their own backyard to them as well. People clowned you when you suggested having our locations shown on our profiles but it's true, we sometimes need to be reminded that we're arguing over our own realities with someone thousands of miles away that will never live here. ATRL has many Ian Miles Cheong's on the left, center & right!
