  1. Not the main point of the post but she can be so vulnerable (even blunt) yet witty with the way she writes and that always shone when she participated in songwriting. Hope posting like this is a relieving outlet for her.
  2. This era defined my childhood more than any other pop albums of the mid 2000s! Happy 20 years to an amazing era of HITS.
  3. Autumn Goodbye is such a highlight for me so the international deluxe tracklist.
  4. Toxic and Crazy in Love have such crazy and iconic instrumental openings that you instantly know the song from the getgo
  5. Omg wait this is so cool! What a small world. (And omg I guess he was a Little Monster too!)
  6. Inspired by the "Newly discovered insect species named after Taylor Swift" thread, I looked up MPGs with genus/species named after that and... Lady Gaga has the most! First up, Gaga (plant). There's 19 species of fern named after her under the genus Gaga! According to biologists, the Gaga ferns bear a close resemblance to Gaga's costume from the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards and also bear a distinct DNA sequence spelling GAGA. There's also Gagadon minimonstrum ("Gaga tooth mini monster"), an extinct genus of even-toed ungulate named after her and her fans. And 2 insects including Kaikaia gaga and Aleiodes gaga! The 1st is a treehopper with distinct horn-like exoskeleton (just like Gaga's extravagant looks) and the 2nd is a parasitic wasp (delivers eggs inside bodies of caterpillars) that was named to honor her. Why does Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta) have so much impact in the world of taxonomy?
  7. Joining other main pop bugs like Beyoncé's (Scaptia beyonceae: horsefly with golden, fuzzy abdomen) and Shakira's (Aleiodes shakirae: parasitic wasp that makes its hosts wiggle)!
  8. One tweet would have been fun. 8 tweets is obsessive omg
  9. Turns out its a FOO Fighter that's getting this award
  10. I'm just happy to see Rachel Dratch
  11. People just writing their favorite albums dsadasffasd but I guess that's why 'pop bible' convo is always so divisive. I personally think pop bible has to have impact and continued success above all. Not necessarily how well received or commercially successful it was during its initial year. For example, how many artists and records has this one album influenced and continues to even years later? How successful are each single and album track years later? (Which is why I think an album has to be at least 5-10 years old to enter this debate.) In this sense, Blackout is a pop bible because it influenced many electropop songs of its time and still to this day. (For example, brat and Demi's recent (deluxe) album.) Also another case is Teenage Dream. Though not critically well-received, virtually every song on the album is still a heavily streamed hit today. In that sense, it is the perfect pop bible.
  12. Critical reception, for sure. She has always released great body of (introspective and personal) work and poptimism is still going strong. Commercial wise, I do not know. She and her team has not done the best job maintaining her legacy, streams, etc. amongst the new generation. (If she rode on the Michael resurgence we are seeing right now though, there might be renewed interest.)
  13. Britney's look and snake is still referenced today. In fact, if you look up "britney spears costume" on Google, the VMA Slave outfit is one of the most popular ones, alongside BOMT school uniform, Oops red catsuit, and Toxic stewardess music video outfits. That's a testament to how iconic and well-remembered a performance is.
  14. some of the atrl members saying he's not hot but thirsting after the most mid white men #okay
  15. So offensive knowing Japan's colonization history against Korea/other Asian countries. Why would he do this even after the event organizers told him the dress code? By the way, that's not even a formal kimono. That's literally a bathrobe.
