It doesn't even have to be long, just a return to her older pace, a new album every 2 years. That would be enough for her creativity to breathe and it wouldn't feel she's gone for too long or too overexposed

On Taylor's case it's mostly her fault as she's very hands on with everything she puts out and she also released trash with Jack Antonoff Though Max is also washed up. There was a time where having him on song credits meant huge pop songs with explosive choruses, instant smashes! And now he's just producing chop after chop with a few hits every now and then He also could've guided Taylor on a different route but seems like he was only there for the paycheck and just said yes to whatever suggestions she had. It's a mess how the same team who once gave us perfect pop songs such as Blank Space and Style are now putting out this trash thinking it's enough

What shocks me the most is how Max Martin produced this album. In the past this meant catchy pop bops with explosive choruses, perfectly made for radio and instant hits... and we got this. His work with other artists lately are like 50 chops and 1 hit he's also washed and needs to pack it up too As of the score, it's well deserved. The OG album was already mid/mediocre with Ophelia being the standout, she just doubled down and did more useless songs. I also hate how she seems to not knowing to write a pop song anymore, it's as if she wants to say lots of things and don't know how to fit them into a song so it seems she's talking over the beat or trying to fit more words in a verse than it should. I thought that was a Jack Antonoff issue but it's repeating even with Max Martin, so Taylor is the problem. Idk how Max and Shellback let that happen, like i said, Max is washed up, but he could've help her with it. It's as if him and Shellback just stood there and let her do whatever she wants to get their paycheck at the end of the day. She needs to take a break. Fans will pretend this is good or blame on Travis Kelce but she just needs to stay away for at least 2 years and let her creativity breathe a little. Spend some time with her husband, maybe start a family or travel around the world, idk, just seek for more inspiration cause clearly it's reaching the lowest point.

Because monoculture no longer exists. In the past, if you really wanted to break records, having an iconic image wasn't enough. You also had to create cultural movements through your music and become a phenomenon, like Michael Jackson and Madonna, for example. You had to release songs that literally everyone knew, regardless of their age or where they came from. This is largely because niche culture didn't exist in the way it does today, with the advent of the internet. I think the last remnants of monoculture were Gaga and Britney in the 2000s, and the person who came closest to recreating that was Taylor. Even so, I still get the impression that her music itself isn't as big as her numbers or as she is as a person and celebrity. Ophelia was the biggest hit she's had in many years... a real, genuine hit, perhaps her first since the 1989 era. But between 1989 and last year, she released so many songs and had so many #1s, and I think a lot of those ended up staying within her own niche. It's a huge niche, obviously, but it still gives the impression that no one outside her bubble really cares about these things. This is not her fault though, it's just how the industry moves these days.

Apparently she was working with Dessner, Antonoff and co so expect a Gracie 2.0 white girl bedroom pop slop music C,XOXO was great but yes, it is a very polarizing record. If only she kept working with El Guincho and explored more of that sound... this will bomb hard too. I was hoping she would pull a Becky G and start over as a Latin artist... and she's an actual Latina. Bring the bops in Spanish, the whole LATAM would embrace her with the right music and features, it would be pretty simple and would help her career a lot. Notice how all of her hits were Latin-influenced and she won 2 Latin Grammys...

I think Olivia is safe. Her latest album was the make it or break it point, considering Guts didn't do as good as Sour, but this one did pretty great and outdid Guts, that means that at least for now she has a strong and loyal base to back her up. Unless she changes completely during next era and goes through a tough hate train, she's fine. As Sabrina idk yet. She's a bigger celebrity and sure had hits and lots of momentum but i think her image is more controversial and that can be good or terrible, depending on the music she puts out. Guess we'll have to wait Doja ruined her career with her antics but she was never big like the other girls to begin with. She just had a nice run of hits thanks to Tiktok and the right momentum, as soon the viral videos stopped her career stalled. Chappell has the talent and the energy to be a MPG but she doesn't seem interested and she's not build to be a popstar, she won't last. Tate is big rn but idk... i still feel like something is missing. Either she's going even bigger or her career will decline with no recover.

Idk if it was already reported here, but Kim said she doesn't own the rights to her music pre-Detour... i thought the Doctor had something to do with it but it wouldn't make sense considering she's still under Amigo Records. Then i remember that when she signed with Republic, all of her past catalogue was tagged as if it was released by them, so basically: Republic signed her and bought her catalog She said she wants to buy it back in the future and had to sell some personal stuff to fund the Detour era by herself. That's why the whole label departure thing was harsh for her, not only the album was on limbo but her entire work was basically locked by them. As usual she deleted the post but it's all around Twitter and she replied to some people who replied to the OG post. Such a demonic contract she got in, i hope she's able to get her music back. And i wonder if she's going to re-record the older stuff, but there's #him on the way of making that possible, probably

Album did 1m on Spotify and Autobahn did 218k Considering it doesn't have any playlist or promo of any sort it did quite good

Sounds like a boring Olivia cosplay. Then again she does that teen white girl boring music so i'm expecting more of this and ballads coming next. Surprised it bombed that hard though None of the girls new releases excited me. Jennie's new EP is boring next to Ruby but i loved Heaven and i appreciate that she's trying something new. Lisa is more of the same with that Rockstar lalisa la diva 50.0 type song... cute but she's done better. Jisoo has nice intentions but her music sounds straight from 2016... and now this from Rosé

I feel like this video is the bridge between Detour and her next era. The new sound, taking off the Detour wig... she said she would release the deluxe and then move on to her next era. This explains why this song isn't very much aligned to the album's sound but rather hints at what she's doing next. I'm here for a more laid back/trip hop album

The album is... cute? It's not bad but nothing stands out for me either, it's just there and i forgot how the songs sound as soon as i finished. Sucks bc i loved IYGR and its video, des fleurs was a grower... but anyways

The beat and the video are insane, i like the Music interpolation too... this would've been such a gag if it was an actual song with verses, a chorus and then the sample. Not him just talking the same thing over and over sounding like a Brat rip-off 2 years too late. A missed opportunity
