What if Hillary had won in 2016?

Featured Replies

If Hillary had managed to squeeze a win against Trump back in 2016 and became the first US female President, how different do you think things would be right now?

The country would be in a lot better of a place. Not as hateful as it has become, and we would have had a good Supreme Court. It's sad, actually. People really let a reality star destroy our country a

She would've been a third term of Democrats in office, and would've had a largely standard and boring but ineffective term bc she wouldn't have had control of congress. Then there would've been a massive red wave in 2020 especially after she would've responsibly handled the pandemic and made ppl follow covid protocols. IDK if Trump would've run again, but we'd probably have a 2 term GOP president as result. Biden would've never been president etc. Tons of changes like that.

People really let a reality star destroy our country and elected him twice.

She would not only be the first woman president, but also the first woman president to be impeached just like her husband was. That presidency would have been nothing but congressional investigations and distractions. Hillary is the vindictive type, so she'd probably pop **** off with Russia for trying to derail her campaign. The GOP would have said Trump was too big a risk to take and would've nominated Ted Cruz in 2020. He'd likely win in a landslide during the pandemic. I don't think we'd have as many progressives in Congress because a lot of them were able to rise in response to Trump being radical and centrist democrats not doing anything about it. Then for 2024 we'd probably have Tim Kaine as the frontrunner simply by virtue of being Hillary's VP. rip

Trump terms are essentially Democratic terms when it comes to foreign policy at least, just done in 2x speed.

The Supreme Court wouldn't be gone for a generation, but the 2024 election would probably be the same outcome tbh

the immigration policy would be different.

Butterfly effect. Whole planet is changed cause with hilary things would be too different.
As yll know Usa has some sort of ripple effect worldwide
So covid didnt happen in that timeline. There was no lab leak or bat leak in the market.
All our life choices or outcomes would be different.
You move a thing from the past and it changes everything. So many songs are born randomly.
So many of our current albums wouldnt exist. Theyre something different
In that timeline witness is a successsful album and is a celebratory album instead of political-aware. No short hair. No backlash era
She's loved and invited to the white house

Technically, the Democrats & Hillary uplifted Trump and put him in the forefront cause they thought he would've been an easier target to beat. And the 2nd time wouldn't have happened had the democrats done their job right the minute biden got into office

honestly we may have 8 straight years of Trump

it's insane how he lost an election and still served 8 years rip

Please let's not do this

It already is hard and painful enough to having to had "let go" of Bernie's win in 2016 without thinking of this ghoul who might have set us up for even more long-term conservative pushback. Sure, the actual term would have likely been a lot "better" at the start, and maybe we would have had some meaningful policy passed, but that's about it.

The main thing I think would be the Supreme Court nominations

The supreme court nominations that wouldn't have even seen the light of day thanks to McConnell?

It's naive to think he would have ever let Hillary fill those seats. If anything, Kennedy and Breyer would have stayed on the court, and the RBG + Scalia seats would have remained vacant the entire time until a Republican replaced Hillary after one term of ineffectiveness. We'd be exactly where we are right now.
