  1. It could be the year 4026 and still not enough time will have passed for this creepy, rape-culture embodying song with spiritually Diddy lyrics to have somehow become a "good" song, let alone a great one
  2. Well look at that, an actual confused-emoji worthy situation
  3. She's certainly close to the sun when she goes out!
  4. I honestly can't stop laughing at this Them covering him gently in the flags and bopping along I can see this gif being used in such messy stan contexts too Edit: Can't have **** in this economy, apparently it was staged as has been pointed out in this thread ddd But. I'm ngl I still find the actual source hysterical 😭
  5. If this is fake: boring. If this is real: stupid, and boring. You need a therapist and/or someone with a creative writing MFA. Good luck!
  6. 187-8 cm. Not quite 6'3, but smidge above 6'2 I think?
  7. Not to be a freak but I love it when they text and engage me earnestly in a conversation
  8. So true! This meaningful calling out is being done by such articulate and incisive pundits such as checks notes Twitter user James Lawrence, self described "Mexican Cappuccino," (x) And user PorchSong, someone retweeting tweets claiming "America is the last frontier," Libs of TikTok, and tweets about how when women women commit public acts of violence, it apparently goes unaddressed. I trust these voices, yes sirreee, to be both interested & invested in racial social justice! They totally don't want to weaponize progressive-sounding rhetoric to champion their conversative, reactionary views enabled by Jefferies of course.
  9. 40 people literally die as an almost-direct consequence of freakish heat across a region not acclimated to heat* ATRLers: -What does average mean -What does Celsius mean -Toughen up -Why? I have a pool and love it, I have an AC and live close to the beach -Why? This is my dream temperature and I'm legally not allowed to wear shorts
  10. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/jun/23/canada-montreal-shooting-gunman-three-killed-suspect-police-cote-des-neiges A suspect armed with a long gun opened fire on Monday at a Montreal hotel, killing a police officer before officers returned fire, killing him, police said. A civilian also died but it wasn't immediately clear who fired that shot. The police chief, Fady Dagher, said a second officer was seriously injured in the shooting in the city's Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood but is in stable condition. Dagher said it was the first time in 24 years that a Montreal police officer had been killed in the line of duty. "It's a very, very sad day. It's a nightmare," he told reporters. Such shooting incidents in Montreal are rare. [...] A police spokesperson in British Columbia said forces across the province were told of the possibility of "documentation or some type of manifesto" calling for police to be targeted with violence. Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton with the Surrey police service said the warning was issued by an intelligence unit operating out of the RCMP British Columbia headquarters on Monday afternoon, after the "tragic events" in Montreal. The Quebec domestic security minister, Ian Lafrenière, said he would refrain from commenting on details about the suspect's identity and motives since the matter is now under investigation by an independent police watchdog. https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-crime/manifesto-laden-with-incel-ideology-linked-to-cote-des-neiges-shooting/ Seth Hatfield, the man responsible for a fatal shootout in Côte-des-Neiges on Monday, appeared to have written a manifesto filled with rhetoric associated with the "involuntary celibacy" — or "incel" — movement and advocating for the use of terror. The 104-page document points to feminism, liberalism and capitalism as causes for what the author says is male suffering, outlining steps to create a "new order" that would curtail the economic and sexual freedoms of women. The text also describes how readers should approach police encounters when committing acts of violence, and suggests targeting the headquarters of *****graphy companies, among other institutions. It ends with the words: "Be unflinching, go forth, and KILL THEM ALL!" A copy of the purported manifesto, which has the name Seth Hatfield as the author, was obtained and reviewed by The Gazette. Hatfield's writings surfaced on Monday after a civilian, a Montreal police officer and a suspect were killed in a shootout that culminated in a massive police operation and hours-long lockdown in the Côte-des-Neiges area. The SPVM officer killed on Monday has been identified as Const. Mohamed Lamine Benredouane and the civilian victim as 68-year-old Michel Mizrahi. terrifying. I'm obviously not going to link the manifesto — nor do I have any interest to read that bullshit, there's no rationalizing any of it any way — to prevent platforming it, but this incident (& a growing numbers of incidents like it) bring so blatantly to the fore how inceldom is a death cult.
  11. Grim but for nearly a decade and a half, I have always envisioned it as being by my own hand. The exact ways — which I will not extrapolate upon for the sake of restraint — have actually varied, accented by the time, age, and social circumstances around me. But I often think about how random and wild it'd be if I just pass in a freak accident. I've always thought of my own death as so inherently being in my control and/or inevitably my thing to "do"...
  12. You did not have to drag grad students this hard Also sounds like you think all of education is a scam
  13. This being your takeaway from this thread is killing me
  14. Dd I feel like the apostrophes around the you are an editorial decision, spoken — unless he did it with an inflection? — it does imply suicide, no? Feel like media outlets wouldn't pick up on harsh-but-encouraging phrasing if this wasn't the case otherwise too
  15. "At the commencement ceremony on May 30, Chen said, "If you don't manage your time well, or your own emotions, or your health, then I am telling every one of you — put a quick end to 'you,' because the world has no need for 'you.'" 17. https://focustaiwan.tw/society/202606050017 On May 30, Chen shared his experience in self-management and career development at a commencement ceremony for master's and doctoral graduates. He urged graduates to manage their time and emotions after entering the workforce, saying that those who fail to do so should "quickly end themselves" because "this world no longer needs your existence," comments that some interpreted as referring to suicide. The quickly is taking me out Apologizing for his "inappropriate speech," Chen said he had requested and been granted a two-month unpaid leave of absence effective June 8 and would reflect on the incident and exercise greater caution in future remarks. Oh that's not...
  18. They killed my favourite punctuation mark lowkey I even always add a space before and after (convention is without, I believe) primarily because it feels visually nicer dd but nowadays people are like em dash hunters If I told him "you weren't catfishing — you were just in survival mode," though
  19. D please Some of us have been using the em dash for years and/or are naturally wordy, if I ever use AI for an ATRL post — of all things — please shoot me.
  20. Look, the inexcusable ethics of catfishing aside — wanting to be desired is understandable but this isn't it, especially since catfishing involves an unaware, non-consenting party like the several guys you've been using pics of. This isn't anyone's business but I do imagine that you probably need to talk to your partner IF what underlined this whole thing was the combination of not feeling desired whilst he is away and not having an open relationship. So though this guy-that-looks-like-you (but isn't) gaining online desire isn't "cheating" — which I am assuming is why you wanted to keep away your own actual pics from the forum — it is still very messy because you're trying to have your cake and eat it too. It may be better than other ways of acting out as you pointed out, but it really isn't healthy. Is it just desire you want, or his? Personally, as someone with severe body image issues too, the idea of being desired for someone else's is soul-eviscerating. So I somewhat get what you mean (again I'm hoping you truly mean it jdnsnen if you're just lying boy will I look stupid) but from the opposite end of the spectrum.
  21. After falling from the heavens, the water droplet finds itself coursing through a mighty, gorging river. The living, serpentine river charts its path through a lush forest — rife with flora and fauna seldom seen, coalescing around the life-giving water body — making its way towards the city. "Hey Chat, here's this himbo pic I stole from someone. Can you drop a pink veil on it like Madonna's Confession II cover? Make it realistic" says the ATRLer, rubbing his hands in glee at the prospect of anonymous homosexual validation. A faint waft of Cheetos fills the air. The river cautiously winds it way to a data center. "LIGHTER VEIL! THEY NEED TO SEE MY MUSCLES," and as the droplet & its brethren get sucked up, it discovers a point in the water cycle unbeknownst to other droplets: mental illness.
  22. ? It is not; and what do you mean decent. Is this you calling people in a gay club something less than decent? yes? As opposed to collective preferences? Why do they have to? There's a point somewhere here about body image in the community and restrictive preferences but this recurring "decent" framing is subsuming all of it...
  23. No so here is the thing: magenta and pink are the same thing, and I FIRMLY believe this, so YES legend Magenta An iconic, timeless commercial
