  1. Wondering if there are enough Democrats to pass this through the Senate. My guess would be Shaheen Hassan Schumer Gillibrand Coons Rosen Fetterman Cortez Masto That's enough for even more to have permission and capitulate, like Ossoff, Warnock, Durbin, Slotkin, Peters. Seems like a comfortable yes to me
  2. Well, I hate to say it but WE don't statistically matter. All signs indicate that the party's base of black women overwhelmingly want her, and they are the ones who have decided every primary for the past two decades. Primary voters want Biden 2.0, Obama 3.0, whatever you wanna call it. They feel that in order to have progress, you need to build back the previous status quo first. Even if that status quo is what gave us Trump two non consecutive times
  3. But I was informed that the Harris candidacy was dead and buried merely by Ossoff entering the conversation, so what happened here???
  4. Polling is admittedly all over the place but I think this at least disproves the narrative that Ossoff's presence is the death of Kamala's chances. She's still very much favored to win due to name recognition alone.
  5. Probably the most truthful tea he's ever spilled
  6. Well, on the substance he isn't wrong, but… he's not really the best messenger for it either
  7. Wild that Jeffries is such a disgrace and he will go completely uncontested for the Speakership next year.
  8. "being anti-Israel is racist against Obama" -Van Jones
  9. Wow, such amazing, ambitious plans for the future!
  10. as expected, the Jewish response to this apology has largely been "not good enough" and "he only apologized for the timing of his remarks rather than the substance" He may as well have not apologized at all. In doing so he showed weakness and satisfied literally no one
  11. The first thing the Jewish liaison is going to advise him to do is to kick Hasan to the curb, and I am not even remotely joking about that.
  12. Obama's "progressive shift" was mainly just him changing his public position on gay marriage going into 2012 after Biden gaffed and basically forced him to. On every other issue though, he moderated in governance compared to the Hope and Change and "Yes We Can!" attitude he campaigned on. Ted Kennedy dying in office really ruined everything. And the octogenarians in Congress still haven't learned any lessons from that, given how Ed Markey, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren have all refused to step aside and punted their retirements out of nothing but ego.
  13. Pete would likely win if he wasn't gay and thusly not electoral poison to black voters. But then again, the novelty of him being a gay candidate was the reason he broke through in 2019 to begin with. And the main reason we have Ossoff polling as well now is because people are wondering "what if we had Buttigieg, but straight?"
