No. It aged well it's just not Taylor's best or most memorable effort. Lover has higher highs imo. 

I've only listened to it once (on its release day) and I couldn't say if it aged badly but I'm TIRED of that synthpop sound or whatever it's called. It was great on 1989, it was cute on some tracks on reputation, it was lovely on Cruel Summer, but recycling it again on Midnights became exhausting and that was it for me... I never bothered to come back to it. Same with Poets, I only listened to it once and it was more than enough.

Now that Max is back, I REALLY hope that Showgirl will help me reconcile with her music.

It's aged better than TTPD and Lover tbh… I still listen to a couple songs from the album. 

outside of hits different and karma, not really 

It's problem is her work with Jack all blends into a singer-songwriter pop melange. So, the music is featureless by design and blends into genre trends.

Not in the slightest, I listened to it the other night and was actually gagged at how well it's aged.

it was always garbage, and the fact it won AOTY…

 

it's always been kinda mid but TTPD is so ******* bad that it makes Midnights sound like an audiobook of the bible

Yup. It truly feels like a mixtape a la Lover. It's unfortunate because tracks 1-4 are immaculate but that's about it. TTPD (sans The Anthology ) on the other hand… whew. Aging like wine 

The problem with Midnights is that pretty much every song after Midnight Rain is dreadful. The only song I really listen to on the back half is Sweet Nothing, which is ironically the most panned track from the entire record

Yeah, I enjoyed it at the time but I tried to listen to it last week and it sounded bad. It was very much of it's time. Her vocal delivery is so staccato,which I liked then but now I just found it irritating. Maroon was almost unlistenable to me and I LOVED it.

I'm not a native English speaker, but the "aged" in the thread title triggers me, you use "age" in that case.

 

 

OT: I don't think it aged badly, I'm kinda indifferent to it.

midnights was as much of a bloated mess as TTPD.

I actually think it's aged the best out of all her albums. Started thinking it was a decent pop effort but now I appreciate how intricate and masterful it is. 

i loved it during 2023 and 2024 but now i dont really listen to it, so for me yes 

Absolutely NO, it's her best album and Maroon is song of the decade, there's that

It hasn't aged but there's nothing remarkable about it.
