I feel like he's still obsessed with acquiring Greenland and doesn't want that to appear smaller (as it would in the corrected map). In the current maps, Greenland appears to be almost the same size as Africa, and we all know that the Not-So-Great Trumpkin is better with pictures than he is words and numbers… or facts.

No one was expecting Sam to pull massive numbers. They also don't have the fanbase that other artists have cultivated. Sam has been touring and doing reasonably well iirc so maybe they're just in their 'legacy artist era'.

Everything is cyclical. People are going to get tired of this and start searching out new acts. When it's no longer profitable to cash in on nostalgia, labels will start pushing new artists again.

I feel like it's a combination of a) she's too expensive and b) her audience isn't the crowd that the rest of Coachella draws. It would be a logistical nightmare if they wanted to cater to both the swifties AND their normal crowd.
