No more tears for New Year is the best one I think no idea why it's a bonus track, enough to improve the album score to a 5/10 for me. It's nothing special but enjoyable at least. Swap WW with it or Gorgeous, a lot of the worst songs are missing a climax which doesn't help either. 

 

Nirvana keeps making me sad because had so much potential  

All The Love is rather cute, actually. I think it's the best song on the album and the only one that so much as begins to fulfill the promise of Walking On Air, which very much seems like the sonic foundation for large parts of this album and yet manages to be better than the whole thing. I suppose Lifetimes also starts on that path, but it just has so few lyrics and it feels like it lacks some little element of that magic spark.

 

I think the thing that Katy has lost on this album is her unique personality. I'm well aware that her personality and her own lyricism was often the source of criticism in the past, but it's also what made her work stand out against the noise, what made it worth considering. For much of this album, she sounds like she's on autopilot at best and just singing over the exhumed corpse of Kim Petras rejects at worst. Which is what she's literally doing on at least one track! That, honestly, serves as a disservice to both these women, who are capable of significantly more.

 

I would honestly like to see what could have been if she had excluded Luke from this project and also let it cook another year with an intentional focus on songwriting. Maybe also with more of a focus on the dance sound, since that's where this album has its most passable moments, particularly that central stretch from Lifetimes through Nirvana. There's the tiniest little ember hidden in there that could have been nurtured into something much more.

This is like a Kim Petras album for katy. I also dont like the trap pop thing. Thats so 2010s. Im also done with House. All the House songs from the pop divas from the last years are so basic

But wanna listen in a more detailed way today  i loved Witness and Smile and i have to like this one. I think it will grow on me. I like all types of Pop Music

But katy really needs to move away from the dance pop-club pop-house thing. Its definitely not her sound.  She makes good fun pop songs but they rock when theyre more summerish like tucked or rockish or like less manufactured like harleys in hawaii. She really should experiment with different genres next.

Agreed. Pop rock core songs like "Wonder" is where she shines

Idk,  i love Katy but the whole production of this album feels very linear and empty, not polished. 

 

some instrumentals sound like those yt NO COPYRIGHT FREE TO USE, feels very flat.

I don't know what some of you see in Crush, I genuinely think that song is one of the worst. Then, Artificial is lyrically interesting but gets all this slander... I really don't get it

The bonus tracks are horrible…

It's sad that this era was tainted from the start with her choosing to work with a predator. The album is actually so good and it just screams happy carefree vibes to me, but I personally don't see it being big outside of her core fanbase because she ruined her own era... Her poor decision-making has overshadowed the music, and it's hard to separate both things. It's a shame because this era could have been iconic if handled differently.

The fact that Gorgeous sounds like the only song on the album made in the 2020s is helping a lot, I guess.
