  1. But Angels Like You is one of Miley's most streamed songs (I think it's currently her most streamed daily but don't quote me), Plastic Hearts debuted with more sales, and Something Beautiful came after Flowers so expectations to succeed were a little higher End of the World is also one of her best songs, I love that song. PH and SB are far and beyond her best two albums imo but I feel this album may shake PH out of the top 2
  2. Tbh class consciousness is the biggest factor that'll move us out of that, but we have a lot of obstacles to overcome. Technology has a stranglehold on people and algorithms are set up by our psuedo-technofuedalist society to keep people from achieving that class consciousness. Not to mention public education, at least in the US, is in tatters; intentionally so. That being said, I think the billionaire class is overestimating their power a bit. They're accelerating too fast during this 2nd Trump admin and nothing speaks louder than empty wallets and bellies, and people are feeling the squeeze. I think the 2030s will bring a resurgence of intellectualism and unplugging from devices as technology becomes more taboo and defunct. That's the thing that these corporations ceded too quickly; innovation and improvement while also chasing profit. They've given up on the former to seek only the latter. People are noticing that products and technology aren't worth it anymore. Maybe it's wishful thinking but my hope is that the 2030s are a bit of a Renaissance because of the above factors. I don't think we'll return to woke 1.0 of the 2010s, but I think people will agree to disagree on a lot of cultural issues for the sake of focusing on bigger problems that actually matter. You might get whispers and looks for being queer but it will be taboo to actually speak out against it because it's just not pertinent to actual problems. Likewise, people will be more open with their religiosity and people will just turn the other cheek and let them be as we've had to do throughout all of history.
  3. I'm personally very excited and the Model/Actriz feature only makes me more excited considering the snippet Something Beautiful was her best work yet and people only don't like it cause it flopped.
  4. This thread reads as a purposeful misinterpretation of a very well established term to jump on a hate train and be shady and the doubling down when called out and corrected on the definition kinda proves it
  5. I don't eat beef in my diet atm, so I was chilling at first, but then I read that prions just have to come in contact with anything (meat or not) to infect you and kill you with 100% certainty and then I got worried all over again Someone can check me if that's not 100% true but I was too scared to research more about that at 2am on a Friday night.
  6. Biggest Black artist debut this century tbh, queen mother of all things
  7. Harris was resoundingly defeated in every presidential run she has made. 2020 was an embarrassment for her and 2024 was an uncontested primary where she was coronated to the nominated only to be, yet again, trounced in the general. AES won a primary where record numbers of AIPAC donations, endorsements for his opponent and even a fake Obama endorsement came out against him. If he loses to Rogers, he doesn't even have the full support of his party like Harris did, at least openly. How is that comparable to Harris's disastrous campaign where the electorate plainly said NO to her despite all the favors people threw at her, including running her against an incompetent opponent in Trump?
  8. The way she speaks so plainly about him, like yeah he's just a guy who says what everyone is agreeing with right now and it gets the girls mad! That's my mother. It could all be so simple but we're forced to witness AIPAC slop time after time
  9. It really does sound like Crank.. hopefully that's a good thing
  10. Relampago. replied to Cain's topic in Base
I love that she always wins in the end She didn't lie when she said she wants hits with LONGEVITY!
  11. Why this comparison? PDR stomps
  12. Like KKK, Jim Crowe era level bad In a world where Republicans run on racism, he made people like Trump look moderate honestly.
  13. Ok now debut more real socialist/DSA policies and stances starting with taking back the US-Taiwan take
  14. Donny kind of gave them exactly what he promised, they just didn't think more than 1 step ahead as to what the consequences of that would be so they can suffer
  15. I feel like it's not going to be next year but she'll do it eventually It never seems to be the people who are rumored either so I don't think it'll be Jay-Z either Maybe Pink unfortunately
  16. I think Cher and Celine Dion atm In the future I can see it being Rih and Adele
  17. Miley was the real cultural reset Espresso wanted to be at least twice in her career tbh. It's easily Miley
  18. I could get behind the idea of voting for a lesser evil, or **** sandwich in this case, if the **** sandwiches were getting a little better. But they're sadly not. Both parties seem interested in moving further right at the moment, and having reservations about a "left wing" party moving right is understandable I'd say. I used to think at least Democrats were moving left on social issues but now they seem poised to throw trans people under the bus at every turn, so I'm sure LGB are next. They'd oversee Obergefell get overturned and twiddle their thumbs as it happens. Are Republicans worse? Yup. But Democrats aren't building the foundation needed to crush their evil, they're just laying the groundwork for it. And this is all putting aside the obvious fact that the Democratic Party is largely just controlled opposition.
  19. The way they seem impervious to this though after they ****ed up and lead us to 2008, 2020 and soon to be 2028-2030s. Not to mention how Reaganomics have been ****ing us in the ass since the 80s. I don't doubt a Democrat will yet again win in 2028 and then the economy will crash shortly after and Republicans will get to hold onto their "we're better for the economy" narrative. Truly the worst Groundhog's Day scenario. That being said, I can't even lash Republicans only because it's not like Democrats do enough either. They're alright at being a life vest that slows us down from sinking or maintains the status quo, but people are literally drowning economically en masse right now and a life vest is not enough
  20. Oh for sure. I'm just speaking to Hasan's statement that Jewish people are experiencing higher threats of antisemitism because of an association with Israel that their leaders proliferate. I don't see why that's controversial cause it isn't, and it's only such a big deal because these establishment Dems and other Jewish leaders who are beholden to Israel can feel the tides turning and see Hasan as the face of the movement they want to crush.
  21. Also as someone raised Catholic and as someone who still attends mass every Sunday, when the Vatican blatantly covers up pedophilia going on in churches, I wouldn't have a problem disavowing and speaking out against that. Is it because it's wrong, yes! But also, I don't want Catholics and Catholicism associated with pedophiles I would then hope that cardinals, bishops, priests and the Pope himself would speak out against it, lest people start randomly attacking anyone who's walking to mass, have parishes attacked by vigilantes and randomly have people wearing a cross attacked on the streets. I don't get what's so hard for people to grasp something similar for Jewish people and Israel. Jewish absolutely should not be inherently tied to Israel's genocide but they are undoubtedly in danger because of a country they have no power over's doings. And many high profile Jewish community leaders aren't doing enough to differentiate between the two, it really is that simple. The purposeful misinterpretations by these rat, two-faced politicians are putting Jewish people in far more danger than Hasan ever has
  22. I literally cannot scroll through a page on this site without it refreshing so apologies if this was posted but my goodness this Hasan hoorahrah is getting out of hand They didn't even push against Kirk this hard, that should tell you all you need to know.
  23. Not me actually tearing up scrolling through Twitter and seeing all her iconic performances, moments, quotes, memesโ€ฆ Goodness, we lost a bright light today Truly one of a kind
