It's really not that bad. I bop to some tracks. It's just she's the current pop punching bag. And it's her fault, people were actually rooting for her until the Dr Puke reunion.  

Had a quick flick through all the tracks on this and was disappointed, nothing jumped out of me and made me want to listen to the whole album. 

If Katy wanted to create a proper club/party album then she should have gone to proper dance producers. I remember reading a rumour of Stuart Price and James Ford being involved - that would have been a very different album.  

She absolutely didn't need to work with Dr. Luke. The production of Stargate on Wonder is actually the highlight of the album. She fumbled the bag herself, well...

This album sounds like a new artist decided to copy Katy's sound in her prime and failed miserably. Yikes.

I listened most of the album last night and I don't think it's that bad but the production sounds lifeless in most of them, not saying that they needed to be experimental but it's like they said let me add my most basic beat and leave it at that with no changes or depth so many of the songs feels half baked.

 

It's sad how they ruined what could've been a great comeback with all these bad decisions, Luke wasn't needed at all, especially if he was gonna give his most basic productions to her and the sad part is that she probably liked what he offered her

 

With that said, I'll probably go back to a couple of tracks like Lifetimes, All The Love, Crush & Truth but won't care for the rest.

 

Crush reminds me of Kelly's Catch My Breath

Sorry, I tried to give it a second listen, but the moment Woman's World started playing again, I had to turn it off. What a terrible way to start an album that's already bad. yeah, I guess we won't be coming back to it for a second listen. 

I think Katy had an ulterior motive with this album. This is all part of her larger plan to get the industry to stop working with Dr. Luke.

The album itself is about a 3/10, but considering that this is the level of the final product after working with Dr. Luke and the foolishness of deciding to release it anyway, I would rate it a 1/10 for sure. The absolute waste of resource and energy.

 

"It's exactly the kind of mindless pop that you guys asked for!!!@#!#@" I mean today's GP doesn't use this kind of music.... even for being "revisited" 90s / 00s sound, this album doesn't work at all.

I will never understand why she decided to work with Luke just for the music to be this bad.

I'm honestly shocked at how mediocre this album is. I know it's Katy, so I wasn't expecting anything too deep, but even for her, this feels incredibly bland.

Every track is built around the same repetitive 4-bar instrumental, and it just loops over and over. It's boring, and I was just yawning through the whole thing. I don't get how you can have big-name producers & songwriters working on this and still end up with something that feels so empty and uninspired.

There's no variety, no interesting choices, no standout moments. It's just... flat. I really feel bad for her.

After a couple of plays it's easy to say that All The Love is the best song on the album, it's very catchy.
