Grammys mean nothing. And people like Gaga and the endless heaps of awards rained on her in return for label favors and over the top pandering are the reason why.

Confessions. Gaga is playing the Lady Gaga act since 2019 and we can all see and hear it. Although I think the Mayhem era really fits her. Madonna is just Madonna and her new album is really good and sincerely.

Neither inspires all that much from me and both have done much better.

However, MAYHEM does bring something new to her repertoire (Killah, some of the Apple Music versions), while Confessions II is no more than a refined amalgamation of her previous sounds, so MAYHEM it is.

I was raised on Gaga and even would consider myself a stan up until just after Artpop and consider myself a very new Madonna stan after doing a deep dive on her discography quite recently. Some context so you know I'm being objective. Gaga has been sounding like she's Lea Michele doing a Broadway show for the past decade or more. The vocals are too theatrical and campy for me to enjoy. And the lyrics are almost always cringy and again, campy in a tacky drag brunch way. Even though there's a couple songs I like on Mayhem and it's an improvement for her, it's not it.

While Madonna had a full on creatively flop decade, she once again, at 67, showed that she's not to be written off and she's still got it. I'm genuinely impressed. Those two albums cant even be compared imo.

This is not even shade, I wish Gaga would serve an Erotica, Music, ROL, Confessions I or II. I thought she was headed that way after BTW. She's young and so skilled. Genuinely makes me sad that she's making the music she is rn.

Confessions II is definitely better

They're not even the same genre, this comparison is ridiculous. Critics have them at about the same score, I think ya'll are doing the most against Mayhem.
