How can you say that when she has Live To Tell, Frozen or even the recent L.E.S. Girl and One Step Away in her discography? Have you ever heard "Oh Father"? She sounds like a child in a choir singing in church when she sings the high notes during the lyrics "What a child will believe" You can't tell me those vocals aren't touching and beautiful. I agree that it's hard to get into songs like BYL or Love Sensation with the vocals they used there, but there's many other songs, especially pre-2015, where her vocals are very pleasant. She has the talent of emoting. For her 2015 song "Ghosttown" she vocals were even compared to Karen Carpenter (M's idol vocally) Gaga might technically have a better voice, but her voice is grating and very unpleasant to me. (give me Beyonce's vocals over her any day)

what's sexual about "good for the soul" or "one step away"? even "I feel so free" is about the love of dancing/letting go and danceteria is about her experience at danceteria and the people who went there, nothing sexual.

What I love is that most of the songs don't follow the typical song structure (aside from the released/lead singles IFSF, BYL and LS). They're full of surprises.. suddenly there's a piano, or a trumpet or acoustic guitar playing, or she starts rapping (in a good way, and even in that rap, she surprises again and starts doing the Walk On The Wild Side melody, or when she repeats "Everyone came from Shafrazi Sha-fra-zi to the beat"), or the long intros and outros.. these are just a few examples Im thinking of, having only heard the album once. and it doesn't feel forced. everything feels organic.

There's a theory going around in the Madonna fandom that producers on the GN show edit her interviews to make her seem awkward and cold. Fans were in the audience for other episodes with Madonna, and what they saw in the broadcast was very different than how they perceived it in real life, like even cutting many jokes, or the moment when she and the fans who created the dolls chatted and had a very warm interaction, but on the broadcast you'd think otherwise.. That may also the reason why she's very guarded with GN.

It makes me sad that these are the sort of interviews that rarely get attention. She truly is a vulnerable, smart, worldly heartwarming person.
