Even if it did, it still doesn't change the reality that she hasn't had a SOLO #1 single since 2011. So yeah, she definitely peaked over 15 years ago, and there's no shame admitting that.

At least she started it off with a bang, and made it somewhat interesting. As for Bieber's "performance", half time shows aren't meant to lull the audience to sleep. They're meant to be visually striking, colourful and full of energy, like a carnival or firework display, which is everything Bieber's coma inducing performance was not. Madonna knew the assignment and it would've been a lot better if that little turd hadn't came in at the last minute, resulting in other performances being cut. He added nothing or value and wasn't needed. I doubt anybody truly cared, except those swooning over his looks.

Who cares? Unlike Monsters, Madonna fans understand and admit Madonna's peak is way behind her, but are so glad her longevity is unmatched, and has left an indelible mark on pop culture and history with her legacy (including 12 us #1 singles and 10 #1 albums). Others aren't so fortunate.

The difference IS Madonna had a history of 25 years of solo #1 singles under her belt by then. Gaga stopped getting solo #1's just 3 years into her career.
