Quality aside, I question why she was allowed to release this in the first place I feel like it was a contributor to her being sexualized/objectified by people as she transitioned into young adulthood, and that's not to blame her whatsoever (she was 17), but I question the adults around her. Similar feeling as Britney's Rolling Stone shoot in the BOMT era, (albeit this isn't nearly as bad as that was), and other things of that ilk.

It hasn't aged badly for me at all. I think the people who say that probably didn't like the song that much when it first came out anyway. I like the tongue-in-cheek lyrics, they're kind of silly, but that's the point. It's not the kind of song you just throw on anytime, though. You have to be in the right mood for it.

I always thought it sounded like a kidz bop version of Crimewave by Crystal Castles.

I never really liked it that much (though I do agree the outro is great) I remember hoping other songs of hers would blow up over this song, but I was happy for her success. Though hearing it now after a while did give me some nostalgia.

ummmmm nah dude. honestly it's one of the last #1 hits I'd think of from the late 2010s if the word "dated" were to evoke some. it still sounds innovative imo, and while I agree that the music video could come off as cringy, the surrealist elements make it mostly timeless to me idk it's definitely not my favorite Billie song but it established her as a cultural force very swimmingly imo. I think that Xanny and When the Party's Over will forever be the most timeless songs on that album however
