  3. i am a olivia stan but to be 100% honest i didnt think the poll would be this unequal. I thought they were close
  4. i put the most popular song of each artist, but i changed it to wrecking ball so the poll is clearer
  5. Two of the biggest pop girls in history. But who had the bigger popularity peak?
  6. "when we used to do that"
  7. she really looooves the red era. Her real magnus opus
  8. Now that we've heard the album, do you think Serena Joy would've been a stronger choice for the lead single? Is drop dead the best decision? Or is there another better decision than serena joy and drop dead?
  9. i bet that if you find a way to ethically cheat, it will stop turning you on You are a bad person, you need to embrace it so your dck is satisfied. Or you can become a better person a develop other fantasies, its up to you
  10. Unholy was an image they couldn't have maintained without backlash, but they maintained it anyway.
  11. why the best song in the album is a filler track?!?!?!?
  12. Probably two of the biggest cultural events of 2023. Which one felt bigger at its peak: Barbie or The Eras Tour? Which one has lasted longer?
  13. i prefer anne hathaway, but at least where i live zendaya is way more famous
  14. "Emails are being sent to the throwback diva's remaining fans to inform them about cancellations" LOL
  15. Bad Bunny has been the most streamed artist in the world five times, beating streaming giants like Taylor Swift and Drake, and his YouTube numbers are also insane compared to most American pop stars. His Google Trends peak around the Super Bowl was comparable to some of the biggest popularity peaks we've seen from artists like Taylor and Gaga, and he's obviously massive across social media too. He's also been one of the few artists capable of competing with Taylor one-on-one in the US. Debí Tirar Más Fotos beat Lover (Live From Paris), and we've seen just how massive his numbers can get when there's a major event around him. Yet I feel like his peak is rarely discussed alongside the biggest female pop stars. People will casually compare the peaks of Gaga, Rihanna, Shakira, Katy, etc., but if I suggest that Bad Bunny's peak might actually be bigger than some of the huge pop girl peaks of the 2010s, I get ridiculed Do you think his popularity peak is genuinely underrated in the Anglosphere? Or is there something about the reach of those older pop stars that streaming numbers don't capture?
  16. the one that is still successful 18 years after her debut
  17. Music feels more fragmented than ever. Everyone has their own algorithm, their own artists and their own little corner of the internet, so even huge releases don't always feel like something everyone is experiencing at the same time. Do you think labels and streaming platforms will eventually find a way to bring that feeling back and make major releases feel like actual cultural events again? Or are they perfectly comfortable with how fragmented music has become? I mean, will companies find a way to bring monoculture back into the musical mainstream? Are they worried about it?
  18. Yes, but i don't know if that's the case in the music industry. There will never be anyone bigger than michael jackson, for example
  19. As time goes on, it feels like pop stars are having smaller and smaller peaks. But Taylor's peak in 2023 was huge, like historically huge. Do you think we will be able to replicate it? Or is taylor swift in 2023 the last huge monocultural peak in music?
  20. let's name specific people so we can make the comparison clearer. Is Mr. Beast bigger than sabrina, olivia or billie? No, not at all, the reach that they both have in terms of global impact is not comparable at all, not even close. But I do think Mr Beast is bigger than gracie and all those small pop girls. But in comparison to main pop girls? No, the numbers are just too big for them. Let's not talk about taylor or beyonce because of course that would be bizarre
  21. I came across this video and thought it was an interesting take: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7TD3TBwCP84 Basically, they argue that people who say they prefer animals to humans aren't necessarily more compassionate. Their point is that pets offer a very unequal relationship: they depend on you, can't really judge you, and can love you even if you're a terrible person to other humans. They even joke that you could be a serial killer and still be Gandhi to your dog They also argue that preferring an animal over the people you actually love can be a red flag. One of them says that as much as he loves dogs, if he had to choose between his best friend and a dog, he'd choose his friend without hesitation. Do you agree?
  22. for example helping the lgbt community during the aids crisis, the eras tour, the bad romance music video etc
