Tinashe - 'POPSTAR'
Not getting why there's so much doom and gloom over an era where the lead single only came out like a month ago, sorry.

Did Taylor's wedding flop?
There wasn't really anything for people to latch onto. I think she wanted people to know she was getting married, to project the image of exclusivity, and, for safety reasons, I'm sure, the public wasn't able to see it nor was anyone to take pictures of it. It's July 4th, it's insanely hot, and the World Cup is going on - normal people have better things to do with their time.

Why do u think so many people left ATRL?
I only come on here occasionally to look at music releases, and sometimes I comment in a random thread. I just use other channels more often (Tiktok, Discord, RYM, AOTY). I will say that in the years before, the culture here was really racist, and it put me off for a while, but lately it doesn't seem so bad. Maybe because I'm not as involved to notice.

Naomi Sharon - 'No Sleep in Paradise'
I think maybe it's a bit too long, but I really love her sound; it's mature and sophisticated, but still danceable and sensual. I only recently got into Obsidian, but I can tell she went poppier this time around. Definitely an album I'll be returning to a lot, especially for the summer. I don't think it would sound out of place for fall either, though, there's a chilliness.

Gay friend group goes mega viral
While I get the kerfuffle on some level, I feel like continuing to talk about these people only really serves to center them. I don't know these people, I don't want to, and I don't have to. God bless.

Taylor's catalogue reaches an all time low in streams. What happened?
People didn't like Slopgirl. She got the big opening numbers, and she pushed the singles to #1, but the retention rate and her discography slipping (and the narratives on Tiktok) paint a bigger picture IMO. I think she just needs to take a little break and come back with a stronger project. Maybe stop writing about herself and go back to songs with good melodies instead of focusing on sesquipedalian lyricism.

UPDATE: Halsey vs Fantano: Fantano drags Halsey's past making out with underage fans
I'm just floored we're still talking about this review, when other reviews of this album were either positive or lukewarm. I don't think ONE negative review should hold this much weight, and it's insane all this is being brought up because Swifties are insecure about Olivia Rodrigo.

Problematique Fave Appreciation
I don't think black listeners have to forgive Caroline, and I don't think those people would be okay with listening to Matty either. I think white artists honestly just need to accept that once they say something anti-black, a lot of black listeners are never going to **** with them, even if they are repentant, and that's entirely within their rights. There are always going to be people who aren't willing to look past the fact that she typed out the n-word, looked at it, and posted it to her IG story without a care in the world. I thought her apology was meaningful, and she's shown good character since then, but I think for some listeners - especially black listeners, that would not be enough, and that's understandable. I don't have anything against Caroline personally, although I really hate how music fans constantly bring her up in relation to Kelela. They were acquaintances, she said the n-word, and Kelela called her out - they're not enemies or rivals, and musically they're not very similar, so I don't know why Kelela constantly needs to be brought up in relation to Caroline for calling out antiblackness.

Problematique Fave Appreciation
The 1975. Sorry, they're kinda generational. Liz and Azealia are the worst here by far. I feel like Caroline is nowhere near their level and everyone ignores her apology (which was really heartfelt), although nobody has to but you know. In the grand scheme of things, I think she's made up since then.
